Samsung 77-Inch S90H OLED Drops $500 to $1,999.99 as Sony Cuts Two 65-Inch BRAVIAs by $300

Samsung's own store now sells the 77-inch S90H OLED for $1,999.99, $500 less than it charged on October 21 and exactly what LG asks for its 77-inch C6. The catch is the calendar: at the time of writing, Samsung's soonest delivery date for that size is December 2, five days after Black Friday.

The cut is part of a wider shuffle on the makers' own stores ahead of November 27. Samsung has cut the 65-inch S90H by $100 and the 77-inch by $500 since late October, and Sony took $300 off each of its 65-inch OLEDs. LG left its 65- and 77-inch C6 exactly where they were on October 21, trimming only its two smallest sizes.

So if you are deciding between buying now and gambling on Black Friday, the useful question is not which set is cheapest. It is which prices actually moved, and which TV can reach your living room in time.

Which OLED TV prices actually fell before Black Friday

Every price below is the maker's own store price at the time of writing, set against what the same store charged in mid to late October. The crossed-out figure is the price each maker strikes through on its own page.

Four of the six are genuinely cheaper than they were a few weeks ago. The two LG sets are not, so at 65 and 77 inches the choice is between Samsung's fresh cuts and LG's unchanged prices with free extras.

Samsung S90H vs LG C6: identical prices at 65 and 77 inches

At both sizes, the S90H now costs the same as LG's C6 to the cent. The 65-inch S90H is $1,399.99 after a $100 cut, matching the 65-inch C6 at $1,399.99, and the 77-inch C6 is $1,999.99.

That LG price is not new. LG charged $1,999.99 for the 77-inch C6 on October 21, when Amazon matched it. Samsung's new figure, by contrast, sits $298 below the $2,297.99 Amazon listed for the 77-inch S90H on October 18.

The screens are where the two part ways. Samsung builds the S90H around its Glare Free finish, which suits a sunny lounge where windows bounce off the screen. The 77-inch C6 instead gets Brightness Booster Pro, which LG keeps for its 77- and 83-inch C6 and says makes each pixel up to 3.2x brighter.

LG gives no nit figure for that claim, and the 65-inch C6 gets only the standard Brightness Booster. Both brands also advertise 165Hz. On the C6 that figure needs a PC with a 165Hz graphics card and sits on a 120Hz native panel, a gap explained in why a TV advertised at 165Hz usually has a 120Hz screen.

Delivery may decide it. Samsung's soonest date is November 21 for the 65-inch and December 2 for the 77-inch, and the 77-inch already showed a November 17 date back in October. LG lists both C6 sizes as in stock and adds a free Xbox controller through November 15, plus free professional wall mounting through November 22.

Sony BRAVIA 8 II and BRAVIA 6 each drop $300 at Sony

Sony made the cleanest cuts of the three makers. Both sets below are $300 cheaper than on October 18, and Sony's store showed both in stock and ready to ship on November 3.

The BRAVIA 8 II is $2,499.99, a QD-OLED set now $800 under its $3,299.99 original price. Sony grades its brightness as XR Contrast Booster 25 rather than in nits. Gamers should note that VRR runs only on HDMI 3 and 4, the kind of split covered in why a 4K TV only runs its top speed on some HDMI ports.

The BRAVIA 6 is $1,199.99, the cheapest 65-inch OLED here. Its price has also been the jumpiest: Sony charged $1,299.99 in early October and $1,499.99 by October 18. Sony says all four of its HDMI 2.1 ports handle 4K at 120Hz, VRR, ALLM and SBTM, where the dearer BRAVIA 8 II limits VRR to two.

Should you buy an OLED TV now or wait for Black Friday

The makers have already shown their hand. Samsung and Sony moved, LG mostly held, and Samsung's S90H now sits on exactly the same numbers as LG's C6 at 65 and 77 inches.

If the TV has to be on the wall for Thanksgiving, the in-stock Sony sets and the LG C6 are the safer picks, and LG's free mounting runs through November 22. If you can wait until December, the 77-inch S90H carries the biggest cut here. If you are still torn between panel types, mini-LED vs OLED sorts out which suits a bright or a dark room.

None of the three makers gives an end date for these prices, so they can still change before or after November 27.
