Amazon has the 2026 ASUS Vivobook S16 at $1,399.99, and the $1,699.99 it is cut from is exactly what ASUS charges for the same model code on its own store today. The saving is real, but so is the ceiling it buys: ASUS lists 16GB of this machine's 32GB as soldered to the board, with the other 16GB sitting in its only SO-DIMM slot.

The listing is model M3607GA-ES99. It pairs a 10-core AMD Ryzen AI 9 465 with 32GB of DDR5, a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and a 16-inch 1920 x 1200 OLED screen in a 3.75-pound chassis.
That is the top configuration of the line, which is why a fixed 32GB cap matters more here than it would on a cheaper laptop.
What ASUS charges for the same model code
Phantom list prices are common on laptop deals, so the anchor is worth checking. It holds up here. The ASUS Store lists M3607GA-ES99 at $1,699.99 and shows it in stock, which makes the Amazon price $300 lower than the maker's.
The sharper comparison is sideways. ASUS sells two six-core Ryzen AI 7 445 builds of this same laptop at $1,599.99, so Amazon's price on the 10-core version lands $200 below what ASUS asks for the slower chip.

What the spec sheet says about memory, storage and the screen
ASUS splits the memory on its tech spec page: 16GB DDR5 on board, 16GB DDR5 in a SO-DIMM, and a stated maximum of 32GB. Half of it can be replaced. None of it can be added to.
Storage follows the same pattern. The expansion row reads "1x M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0x4" and ASUS labels that count as including slots already in use, so the bundled 1TB drive fills it. More storage means swapping the drive out, not adding a second one.
That is the usual trade on a 0.70-inch thin machine, and it is the one that decides how long the laptop stays useful. The cheaper Zenbook 14 with a Ryzen AI 9 chip starts from a lower memory figure still.
The panel comes with a trade of its own. ASUS offers two screens on this chassis, and they do not overlap. The OLED is 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz, with a 0.2ms response time, 95% DCI-P3 coverage and TUV Rheinland certification. The 120Hz option is an anti-glare LCD touchscreen instead.
This listing takes the OLED, so contrast comes at 60Hz. ASUS publishes no brightness figure for the panel anywhere on its spec or product pages, which is a notable gap on a screen sold on its image quality. Another 16-inch OLED laptop in this weight class shows what the format is good for.
The Copilot+ badge is earned, at 50 TOPS and not 73
Microsoft sets a hard floor for the Copilot+ PC label: an NPU that runs at more than 40 trillion operations per second. AMD's spec page for the Ryzen AI 9 465 lists the NPU at up to 50 TOPS, so this machine clears the bar with room to spare.
The same page lists a second figure, up to 73 TOPS, and that one is the whole platform rather than the NPU. It is an easy number to misread. For context on what the silicon actually does, this explainer covers how an NPU differs from the CPU and GPU.
AMD dates the chip to January 5, 2026. It runs four Zen 5 and six Zen 5c cores at a 28W default, configurable between 15W and 54W, with Radeon 880M graphics.
What the listings leave unsaid
The headline battery claim needs reading twice. ASUS rates the Vivobook S16 at up to 23 hours. Its own footnote says the December 2025 test played 1080p video on the six-core Ryzen AI 7 445 with 16GB of RAM. Wi-Fi was disabled and the screen was set to 150 cd/m2. That is not the configuration on sale here, and a Windows battery report will say more than any rating.
Panel brightness, the SSD maker and the rated speed of the fitted memory module are all absent from ASUS's published specs. Wi-Fi 6 rather than Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 is a conspicuous choice at this price. Amazon gives no end date for the discount, lists Amazon.com as the seller, and prices at this level move without warning.
