Thermal Grizzly Launches PhaseSheet PTM Pro With Better Thermal Conductivity and Easier Installation

Thermal Grizzly has introduced PhaseSheet PTM Pro, a new thermal interface material designed to improve heat transfer between processors, graphics chips and their cooling systems.

Announced on November 3, 2026, the product improves upon the original PhaseSheet PTM with a revised material composition and a protective film that makes installation easier.

The company claims the new version delivers higher thermal conductivity, improved durability and more consistent cooling performance over extended periods.

Unlike conventional thermal paste, PhaseSheet PTM Pro arrives as a solid sheet that changes its physical properties when exposed to higher temperatures.

The product is available in a 40 x 40mm size for $23.28.

PhaseSheet PTM Pro Uses Heat to Improve Thermal Contact

The new thermal sheet uses phase change material that remains solid at room temperature.

When temperatures exceed approximately 45°C, the material begins to liquefy, allowing it to spread across the contact surface between the processor and cooler.

This process helps fill microscopic gaps that would otherwise reduce heat transfer efficiency.

Once temperatures decrease, the material returns to its solid state.

Thermal Grizzly has also redesigned the protective carrier film, making it easier to remove from both sides without accidentally tearing the sheet.

The material is electrically nonconductive, making it suitable for CPU and GPU cooling applications.

New Thermal Pad Is Designed to Reduce Pump Out Problems

One advantage of PhaseSheet PTM Pro is its resistance to the pump out effect commonly associated with traditional thermal paste.

This problem occurs when repeated heating and cooling causes materials to expand and contract at different rates.

Over time, these movements can gradually push thermal paste away from the contact area, reducing cooling effectiveness.

Thermal Grizzly says its new material minimizes this problem through low viscosity when heated and contraction during cooling.

The company recommends approximately 300 to 400N of mounting force for optimal material distribution.

It also states that maximum thermal conductivity develops after approximately ten heating cycles above 60°C.

PhaseSheet PTM Pro is intended to provide greater durability than conventional thermal paste, although the company's KryoSheet remains a longer lasting alternative.

The new product could appeal to PC enthusiasts maintaining older graphics cards or replacing CPU thermal paste.

However, independent testing will be needed to determine how much cooling performance improves compared with the original PhaseSheet PTM and competing thermal interface materials.
