NVIDIA says Hogwarts Legacy will add DLSS 5 on November 5, 2026, more than three years after the game shipped. The feature arriving is 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, and NVIDIA lists it for GeForce RTX 50 Series systems, GeForce NOW and RTX Spark laptops.

That makes the 2023 wizarding world game one of the larger back catalogue titles to pick up DLSS 5 rather than launch with it. NVIDIA says the same update also lifts the game's other DLSS technologies to their newest versions.
What the November 5 update actually adds
NVIDIA's wording is narrow. "In a new update launching November 5th, DLSS Neural Rendering will be added to Hogwarts Legacy," the company writes in its announcement.
This is not a new upscaler and not a new frame generation mode. Hogwarts Legacy already supports DLSS Multi Frame Generation and DLSS Ray Reconstruction on GeForce RTX cards, and those features stay as they are.
NVIDIA credits developer Avalanche Software with tuning the integration using the DLSS 5 SDK controls, in order to maintain the artistic intent and style of the game. Those per-game controls were detailed in July, ahead of the fall launch.

Which GPUs are eligible
This is the detail that decides whether the update is relevant. NVIDIA names GeForce RTX 50 Series, GeForce NOW and RTX Spark, and it names nothing else.
There is no mention of GeForce RTX 40 Series or anything older running 3D-Guided Neural Rendering in the game. NVIDIA has not said whether older cards will ever be supported, and the attempts to run it on RTX 40 hardware have come from modders rather than from NVIDIA.
One related feature does reach older cards. Frame Generation Performance Mode, a beta option NVIDIA labels Preset C, runs on GeForce RTX 40 Series and RTX 50 Series GPUs plus RTX Spark laptops.
It is a separate thing from the DLSS 5 model update. NVIDIA says Preset C swaps the second optical flow AI model for a lighter algorithm, with minor trade-offs in image quality, and it is opted into through the NVIDIA app.
NVIDIA's numbers, and the settings they are missing
NVIDIA published no performance figures for Hogwarts Legacy at all. No frame rates, no multiplier, no test resolution or quality preset.
What it did publish concerns the DLSS 5 model itself. The October revision shrinks the network by 24 percent to roughly 118 million parameters, and cuts VRAM use at 4K by 20 percent.
NVIDIA says the result carries half the GPU overhead of September's version at comparable visual fidelity. Those claims, part of the wider October model update, are the company's own measurements, and no independent testing of them is available.
NVIDIA did publish frame rate multipliers for another title and for Preset C. Neither came with a stated resolution or quality preset attached, so neither number is repeated here.
What Warner Bros. and Avalanche have not said
Neither Warner Bros. Games nor Avalanche Software has published patch notes for the November 5 update. The game's Steam news feed carries no first party post about it, and the most recent Warner Bros. Games announcement there dates from October 1, 2026.
No build number has been given, and no Game Ready driver version either. NVIDIA refers only to the latest NVIDIA app beta, without naming a version.
Whether console versions are included is unstated. Avalanche is meanwhile working on a confirmed sequel, so how much the original keeps gaining after November 5 is still an open question.
