THUNDEROBOT Radiant 16 With RTX 5070 and Core i9 Drops to $1,899 in Amazon Deal

The THUNDEROBOT Radiant 16 gaming laptop with a Core i9-13900HX and an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU is listed at $1,899.00 on Amazon at the time of writing. That undercuts an HP Omen MAX 16 with the same 8GB RTX 5070 by $200, but the savings come from pairing a new GPU with a processor Intel launched in early 2023.

Amazon shows a list price of $2,489.00, so the current price cuts $590 from it, a 24% discount. The listing marks the laptop as in stock.

What the THUNDEROBOT Radiant 16 deal includes

The configuration is a 16-inch laptop with a 2560x1600 QHD+ screen at 300Hz, 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD. It runs Windows 11 Home and connects over Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth.

Why it matters: the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU is sold in two memory sizes, and this unit uses the smaller one. The processor is also about two years older than the graphics chip, which makes this a mixed-generation build rather than a current platform.

Ports, according to the Amazon listing, are three USB Type-A, one USB Type-C, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet and an audio jack. There is also a backlit keyboard with a numeric keypad and a webcam.

An RTX 5070 with 8GB, paired with a 2023 processor

NVIDIA lists two standard memory configurations for the GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU: 8GB and 12GB of GDDR7. The Amazon listing for this Radiant 16 specifies the 8GB version, so the GPU name alone does not tell buyers how much video memory they get.

Otherwise, the chip matches NVIDIA's spec: 4,608 CUDA cores, a boost clock range of 1,425 to 2,347MHz and 798 AI TOPS. NVIDIA says it uses the Blackwell architecture with fourth-generation RT cores, fifth-generation Tensor cores and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.

The processor is a different story. According to Intel's spec page, the Core i9-13900HX launched in Q1 2023 with 24 cores (8 Performance and 16 Efficient), 32 threads, 36MB of cache and a 5.4GHz max turbo.

Intel rates it at 55W base power and 157W maximum turbo power. It is still a high core count chip, but it predates the RTX 5070, which NVIDIA announced in January 2025, by about two years.

One claim needs care. A Thunderobot graphic in the Amazon gallery shows the GPU at 175W and the CPU at 55W, for 230W combined, in a stress test.

NVIDIA does not publish a power figure for the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU on its consumer spec pages, so the 175W number is Thunderobot's own claim and cannot be checked against NVIDIA. GPU power limits shape sustained performance, as a laptop RTX 5070 Ti power mod that reached 160W showed.

How it compares with other RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 laptops on Amazon

Several other 16-inch gaming laptops with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage are discounted on Amazon at the time of writing. Here is how they line up.

The closest match is the HP Omen MAX 16, which uses the same 8GB RTX 5070 but costs $200 more with an 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350. The Radiant 16 has the higher refresh rate and the larger core count on paper.

For $50 less, the HP Omen 16 steps down to an RTX 5060. The Lenovo Legion 7a Gen 11 is the only listing here with the 12GB version of the RTX 5070, plus an OLED panel, but it costs $1,490.99 more.

What Thunderobot does not publish for this configuration

The exact pairing of a Core i9-13900HX and a non-Ti RTX 5070 does not appear on Thunderobot's global store. There, the Radiant 16 with this processor comes only with an RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080, so there is no manufacturer spec page to check this precise model against.

As a result, the laptop's weight and battery capacity are not published for this configuration. Amazon does not list an end date for the discount, and prices can change at any time.
