Gaming laptop prices remain high in 2026, but several current discounts are bringing RTX 50 series machines into more reasonable territory. The strongest deals range from an RTX 5050 laptop below $1,000 to powerful RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 systems for buyers willing to spend more.
One important detail is GPU power. Two laptops carrying the same GeForce RTX model can perform differently if one runs the GPU at a much lower power limit. Several affordable systems in the current selection use 65W or 85W graphics configurations, while more expensive RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 machines reach 140W or 175W.

RTX 5060 laptops offer some of the strongest value
The Gigabyte Gaming A16 stands out at $1,049.99 after dropping from $1,549.99. Its RTX 5060 is limited to 85W, but the 1200p display should keep the graphics workload manageable. The configuration also includes a Core i7 13620H processor, 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD.
For another $100, the Acer Nitro V 16 trades storage capacity for memory. It combines an 85W RTX 5060 with 32GB of DDR5, a Core 7 240H processor and a 180Hz 1200p panel. Storage is limited to 512GB, which is the clearest compromise.

The Gigabyte Aero X16 costs $1,299.99 but adds a Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a sharper 1600p screen. Its RTX 5060 also runs at 85W, so upscaling may be useful when playing demanding games at the panel's native resolution.
Higher GPU power becomes important above $1,500
The MSI Vector 16 HX AI is one of the more performance focused options. Its RTX 5070 Ti runs at up to 140W and includes 12GB of graphics memory. At $1,627.69, down from $2,199, it pairs that GPU with a Core Ultra 7 255HX processor and 1TB SSD.
The HP Omen Max 16 takes a different approach at $1,799.99. It uses an RTX 5070 rather than the 5070 Ti, but allows the GPU to operate at up to 140W. The Lenovo Legion 5 costs the same and uses a 115W RTX 5070, but adds a Core Ultra 9 275HX and a 165Hz OLED display.
At the top of the selection, the MSI Vector 16 HX AI with RTX 5080 costs $2,299. Its GPU can run at up to 175W, while the system includes a Core Ultra 9 275HX, 1TB SSD and a 240Hz 1600p display.
Budget buyers have fewer choices below $1,000
The Acer Nitro V 15 is one of the few options below four figures, priced at $963.40. Its RTX 5050 operates at 75W and is paired with a Core i5 13420H, 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB drive. The 1080p 165Hz screen is a sensible match for the lower powered graphics configuration.
The Lenovo LOQ 15 is slightly more expensive at $999.99. It offers DDR5 memory and a Ryzen 7 170 processor, but its RTX 5050 is restricted to 65W. That lower power limit means the Acer is likely to have an advantage in GPU heavy workloads despite the two machines using the same graphics family.
Current deals show why comparing gaming laptops by GPU name alone is increasingly unreliable. Power limits, display resolution, RAM capacity and storage can differ substantially even between similarly priced systems, making the complete configuration more important than the RTX model printed on the specifications sheet.
