Shokz expanded its open-ear lineup at CES 2026 with the launch of OpenFit Pro, a new flagship pair of true wireless earbuds that introduces noise reduction to an open-ear design. The announcement positions OpenFit Pro as the company’s most advanced consumer earbuds to date.
Unlike traditional in-ear models, open-ear earbuds sit outside the ear canal. That design improves comfort and awareness but usually sacrifices noise control. Shokz claims OpenFit Pro addresses that trade-off with a new hardware and software approach.
Open-ear noise reduction takes center stage
OpenFit Pro uses a triple-microphone system paired with adaptive noise-reduction algorithms. Instead of blocking sound entirely, the earbuds actively reduce background noise while keeping environmental audio audible. Shokz says this setup works best in everyday settings such as offices, cafés, and city streets.
Early CES demos suggest the feature cuts down ambient chatter and steady background sounds, though it does not aim to replace the full isolation of sealed ANC earbuds. Shokz frames the feature as noise reduction rather than full noise cancellation, keeping safety and awareness intact.
Audio upgrades and spatial sound support
Shokz also refreshed the audio hardware. OpenFit Pro introduces SuperBoost dual-diaphragm drivers, designed to improve bass response and clarity over previous OpenFit models. The earbuds support Dolby Atmos with dynamic head tracking, allowing compatible content to adjust sound positioning as the user moves their head.
This feature targets users who stream movies, play games, or listen to spatial audio tracks on supported platforms.
Battery life and charging details
Battery performance remains a key focus:
- Up to 12 hours of playback per charge with noise reduction disabled
- Around 6 hours per charge with noise reduction enabled
- Up to 50 hours total with the charging case
- A 10-minute quick charge delivers about four hours of listening
These numbers place OpenFit Pro among the longest-lasting earbuds in its category.
Comfort, durability, and design
OpenFit Pro uses ultra-thin nickel-titanium alloy ear hooks coated in soft silicone to improve stability and reduce pressure during long sessions. Shokz rates the earbuds at IP55, offering protection against sweat, dust, and light splashes.
The overall design keeps the familiar open-ear hook style but adds a larger charging case to accommodate the increased battery capacity.
App features and connectivity
Through the Shokz companion app, users can:
- Adjust noise-reduction intensity
- Switch EQ presets
- Enable multipoint Bluetooth connections
- Locate misplaced earbuds with Find My Earbuds
The earbuds support Bluetooth 6.1, allowing faster switching between phones, tablets, and laptops.
Price and availability
Shokz plans to sell the OpenFit Pro for $249.95 in the U.S. Preorders opened during CES 2026, with full availability expected later in January. Regional pricing may vary.
With OpenFit Pro, Shokz signals a push to evolve open-ear audio beyond fitness use, targeting everyday listening with better sound quality and smarter noise control.
