LG Electronics has announced a new lineup of Xboom speakers ahead of its CES showcase, expanding the brand with AI-powered audio tuning, adaptive lighting, and personality-driven features developed in collaboration with will.i.am.
The new range, branded xboom by will.i.am, focuses on personalization and immersive sound, as LG continues to push artificial intelligence deeper into its consumer audio products.
AI-driven sound and lighting take center stage
LG says the latest Xboom speakers use AI Sound technology to analyze music in real time and automatically adjust equalization for clearer vocals, deeper bass, and more balanced output. The system adapts based on content and listening environment, reducing the need for manual tuning.
Alongside audio enhancements, the speakers introduce AI Lighting, which syncs multicolored light bars and effects to music playback. LG positions the lighting as both a party feature and an ambient option, depending on the selected mode.
Four models for different use cases
The new lineup includes four portable speakers designed for different scenarios:
- Xboom Stage 501 – A high-output party speaker aimed at indoor events, featuring powerful amplification, AI Karaoke tools for vocal adjustment, and dynamic lighting effects.
- Xboom Blast – A rugged, outdoor-focused speaker with long battery life and durability certifications suited for travel and group use.
- Xboom Mini – A compact, cube-style speaker designed for casual listening at home or on the go.
- Xboom Rock – A tougher portable option built to withstand outdoor conditions while maintaining enhanced bass performance.
All models support adaptive EQ, smart controls, and AI-assisted playback features.
will.i.am partnership shapes the experience
LG continues its collaboration with will.i.am, who has helped shape both the design language and the AI personality behind the Xboom brand. The partnership focuses on making speakers feel more interactive, with curated sound profiles and intelligent music recommendations influenced by user behavior.
CES debut with more details coming
LG plans to showcase the new Xboom speakers, along with the LG Gallery TV at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. While LG has confirmed core features and positioning, the company has not yet shared pricing or release timelines, which it is expected to announce during or shortly after the show.
With AI-powered personalization and lighting now central to its portable audio strategy, LG is signaling that smart, adaptive experiences will play a bigger role in its consumer electronics lineup going into 2026.
