Samsung's 27-inch ViewFinity S7 S71H is $179.99 at Amazon, and it is a 4K monitor Samsung's own US store does not list. The 27-inch ViewFinity S7 that Samsung does sell is the S70H, and the product data on its Samsung page gives $189.99, in stock.

That puts the Amazon price $10 under the nearest 27-inch 4K monitor the maker sells directly. It also means the $249.99 list price on the listing has no Samsung figure behind it.
What the S71H is, by Samsung's own spec sheet for the model code, is a flat 27-inch IPS panel at 3,840 by 2,160. It runs at a maximum of 60Hz.
Samsung rates it at 300 cd/m2 typical brightness and 1,000:1 static contrast, with 5ms grey-to-grey response. Those are the numbers that make a 4K panel cost $179.99.
What the $179.99 panel gives up
Samsung publishes one colour figure for the S71H, and it is 99% sRGB coverage. There is no DCI-P3 number, no Adobe RGB number and no Delta E claim on the page.
The display section lists HDR10 with no DisplayHDR tier attached. That is a format label rather than a certified brightness or contrast level.
Samsung also gives a 250 cd/m2 minimum brightness, and the dynamic contrast row carries the word Mega instead of a figure. The static 1,000:1 is the number that describes the panel.
Response time is quoted as 5 (GTG), so Samsung names the method as grey-to-grey rather than leaving it open. The refresh rate row reads Max 60 Hz, which rules out the monitor for fast motion.

Four connectors, and one of them is the power inlet
The interface list runs to one DisplayPort 1.2, one HDMI 2.0 and one headphone output. There is no USB port on the monitor, no hub and no USB-C, so no power delivery to a laptop either.
Samsung's own labelled connector image agrees with the table. It names HDMI IN, DP IN, Headphone OUT and POWER, and nothing else.
The stand is recorded as type Simple. Tilt runs from minus 2 degrees to 18 degrees, and no height, swivel or pivot figure is published at all.
The mount pattern is 100 by 100 mm, which is the route to an arm. A 27-inch 4K panel that does carry USB-C costs a good deal more, as the INNOCN CB27U1 at $379.99 showed.

What $38 more buys than Samsung's 27-inch 1080p
Digital Citizen priced the 27-inch Samsung S3 S32GF at $141.56 on 19 October. The S71H costs $38.43 more than that.
The trade is clear in both directions. Four times the pixels sit on the same 27-inch diagonal, and the refresh rate falls from up to 120Hz to 60.
Samsung's own next step up is the 27-inch ViewFinity S8 S80UH at $399.99 on its store, which is more than twice the Amazon price. For QHD rather than 4K, the Dell 27 Plus S2725DSM reached $189.99 in September.
| Monitor | Panel | Refresh | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung ViewFinity S7 S71H, 27-inch | 4K IPS | 60Hz | $179.99 at Amazon |
| Samsung ViewFinity S7 S70H, 27-inch | 4K | Not published | $189.99 at Samsung |
| Samsung ViewFinity S8 S80UH, 27-inch | 4K | Not published | $399.99 at Samsung |
| ASUS ROG XG27UCG, 27-inch | 4K Fast IPS | 160Hz | $329.00 at Amazon |
The ASUS ROG XG27UCG is the one in that table with a gaming refresh rate, and its listing claims 95% DCI-P3 and 1ms response. It costs $149.01 more than the Samsung.
What neither store publishes
Samsung's US sitemap listed 217 monitor pages when it was checked, and none of them is this model code. Samsung publishes no US price and no MSRP for the S71H, so the $249.99 anchor cannot be checked against the maker.
The nearest Samsung MSRP is the 27-inch S70H at $299.99, and Samsung is currently selling that one for $110 less than its own list.
Digital Citizen has no earlier price on record for this listing, so $179.99 is simply the current price rather than a confirmed drop. The listing also records a one-year manufacturer warranty and no end date for the discount.
Amazon shows the monitor in stock and sold by Amazon itself at the time of writing. Samsung's store prices move the same way Amazon's do, so both figures are the ones showing today.
