The Samsung 48-inch S85H OLED is $897.99 at Amazon, exactly $2.00 less than Samsung charges for the same model on its own store today. That $2.00 is not an accident, because Amazon sits exactly $2.00 under Samsung on six of the seven 2026 Samsung OLED sizes checked for this piece.

Amazon's listing is Samsung model QN48S85HAEXZA, a 2026 OLED built around the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, with four HDMI ports and Motion Xcelerator 120Hz. The number worth noticing is the $1,097.99 list price behind the 18% badge, because that is what the better 48-inch S90H actually sells for today.
What the $897.99 price really is
Samsung's 48-inch S85H page renders a struck-through $1,199.99 and no other figure. The live price sits in the page data, where the record for QN48S85HAEXZA carries an MSRP of $1,199.99 and a current price of $899.99.
The structured offer on the same page agrees, listing $899.99 against a $1,199.99 strikethrough, in stock. So the gap to Amazon is $2.00 rather than the $302 the rendered page implies.
Amazon's $1,097.99 anchor is itself $102 below the $1,199.99 Samsung announced for this size in April. No primary record shows the listing ever charging $1,097.99.
One caveat belongs with the price. Amazon is the seller and shipper, but the listing reads Only 9 left in stock, more on the way, in both of today's checks.

What $200 more buys at the same screen size
Samsung also sells the S90H at 48 inches, and the two share a body. Both measure 42.1 by 24.4 by 1.6 inches without a stand and both use a 300 x 200 mm mount.
Samsung says the step up adds Glare Free, OLED HDR+, the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor and the Ultimate Gaming Pack with Motion Xcelerator 165Hz. A Samsung footnote narrows that last one, stating 4K 165Hz is only available with PC-connected games on a compatible graphics card.
Samsung's own figures also disagree with each other here. The April press release footnotes say the 42-inch and 48-inch S90H have OLED HDR, not OLED HDR+, while the live product page still lists OLED HDR+ for the 48-inch.
| Model | Amazon price | Samsung's price | Amazon seller |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung 48-inch S85H | $897.99 | $899.99 | Amazon.com |
| Samsung 48-inch S90H | $1,097.99 | $1,099.99 | Ubuydirect |
| Samsung 42-inch S90H | $997.99 | $999.99 | Electronic Express |
| Samsung 65-inch S85H | $1,297.99 | $1,299.99 | Ubuydirect |
The S85H is the heavier set of the two at 48 inches, at 27.12 lb against 23.37 lb. Its feet also span 21 inches, where the S90H stand needs 14.4 inches of table.
The smallest S85H is also the cheapest per inch
Small OLEDs usually carry a size premium. This one does not, and the S85H ladder makes that plain.
At Amazon's prices today the 48-inch works out at $18.71 per class inch, the 55-inch at $19.96 and the 65-inch at $19.97. The 77-inch costs $25.95 an inch and the 83-inch $34.90, so cost per inch climbs with every step up the line.
One correction is worth making, since the 48-inch is often described as Samsung's smallest OLED. It is the smallest S85H, and new for 2026, but Samsung also sells a 42-inch S90H, and $100 more than this TV buys it. Digital Citizen has already covered the 65-inch S85H and the 65-inch S90H further up the same ladder.
What Samsung still does not publish
Samsung does not say which OLED panel technology this set uses. The 2026 OLED announcement never uses the words QD-OLED or WOLED, and Amazon's technical table describes the screen only as self-luminous.
There is no peak brightness figure in nits, no measured contrast ratio and no colour gamut number. Motion Xcelerator 120Hz is a motion brand rather than a stated panel refresh rate, and neither Samsung nor Amazon prints the label HDMI 2.1 or a per-port signal rate.
That makes a like-for-like comparison with a rival 48-inch OLED harder than it looks, including the 48-inch Sony BRAVIA 6. No end date is published for the Amazon price or for Samsung's own markdown, and both are what the listings charged at the time of writing.
