PlayStation Store's Black Friday Sale Starts November 4, but Some Deals End November 20

Sony's PlayStation Store Black Friday sale starts on Wednesday, November 4, with up to 75% off thousands of PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions and DLC. It is really two sales in one. Some of the first discounts end on November 20 and make way for new offers, so when you buy matters as much as what you buy.

The sale opens more than three weeks before Black Friday itself, which falls on November 27 this year. Sony has also named 16 of the games that will be discounted, but it is keeping the actual prices back until the store flips over.

When the PlayStation Store Black Friday sale starts and ends

According to Sony's announcement on the PlayStation Blog, the promotion begins at midnight on November 4 and refreshes at midnight on Monday, November 16. Certain discounts end at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 20, and the whole sale closes at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 30, which is Cyber Monday.

Every one of those times is given in Pacific, Greenwich Mean and Japan Standard Time. For shoppers on the US East Coast, midnight Pacific means the sale goes live at 3 a.m. Eastern on November 4, and the final deadline lands at 2:59 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, December 1.

Opening on November 4 puts the PlayStation Store in step with the early hardware offers already out, such as an early Nintendo Switch 2 discount at one retailer. It also gives you almost four weeks to shop, as long as you know which deals expire first.

Which PS5 games Sony has confirmed for the Black Friday sale

The preview leads with the Digital Deluxe Edition of Marvel's Wolverine, a game Insomniac has already patched with toggles for its scent trails and other exploration hints. Saros Digital Deluxe Edition and Astro Bot sit alongside it.

Beyond those, the list includes 007 First Light Deluxe Edition, Pragmata Deluxe Edition, Silent Hill: Townfall, NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition, UFC 6 Ultimate Edition and Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred. Valheim, Mortal Shell II, The Sinking City 2, The Blood of Dawnwalker Eclipse Edition, Echoes of Aincrad Deluxe Edition, Beast of Reincarnation and Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition round it out.

How deep each cut goes stays hidden until the sale begins, when the full list appears on the PlayStation Store Black Friday page. The promotion and the percentage off can also differ by region, so a 75% figure in one country is not a promise in another. If you were holding out for cheaper hardware, this announcement does not help: it names no discounts on PS5 consoles, controllers, PS VR2 headsets or PlayStation Plus memberships.

Why some PlayStation Black Friday deals end on November 20

The most important detail sits in the fine print. Certain discounts finish on November 20, ten days before the sale ends, and some of those deals are then replaced with new offers. Sony's own banner for the event reads "Ends 11/20", even though the promotion itself runs to November 30.

Put that next to the November 16 refresh and the shape becomes clear. Rather than one fixed list for four weeks, the store changes partway through, and a price you see on the first day may not be there in the final week. Sony points shoppers to each item's product page for the details of that particular offer.

The November 20 cutoff also lands the day after Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That matters if you plan to fill your console with first-wave downloads, because the game has been reported to need about 210GB on PS5, a figure Rockstar has not confirmed.

How to time your PlayStation Store purchases before Cyber Monday

The simplest approach is to treat the sale as two shopping trips. On November 4, check the product page of each game you want and see whether its discount is one of the offers ending on November 20. Those are the ones to decide on in the first wave.

Everything else can wait for the November 16 refresh, when new offers start arriving, and for the last stretch to Cyber Monday. The 16-game preview tells you what will be cheaper this month, and the end date on each product page tells you how long you have to decide.
