GTA 6 Reportedly Requires 210GB of Storage on PS5 Ahead of November 19 Release

Grand Theft Auto 6 could require approximately 210GB of storage space on PlayStation 5, according to new information reportedly discovered in the PlayStation Store database.

The reported figure suggests Rockstar Games' upcoming open world title will be considerably larger than GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, potentially requiring players to clear substantial space on their consoles before installation.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Console players will reportedly be able to preload the game starting November 12, giving them one week to download the files before release.

However, Rockstar has not officially confirmed the 210GB installation requirement, meaning the final storage size could change.

GTA 6 Could Take Up More Than 200GB of PS5 Storage

The reported storage requirement comes from PlayStation Game Size, an account known for examining PlayStation Store backend information to identify download sizes for upcoming releases.

At 210GB, GTA 6 would occupy a substantial portion of the available storage on a standard PS5.

The requirement could be particularly inconvenient for players who have several large games installed or rely on slower internet connections.

For comparison, GTA 5 Enhanced requires approximately 105GB of storage on PC, while its PS5 version occupies around 105.3GB.

Red Dead Redemption 2, another major Rockstar release, recommends 150GB of available storage on PC.

GameReported or listed storage requirement
GTA 6210GB on PS5, unconfirmed
GTA 5 Enhanced105.3GB on PS5
Red Dead Redemption 2150GB on PC
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4115GB at launch

These figures are not directly comparable across every platform, as installation sizes can differ depending on updates, game versions and additional content.

GTA 6 PC Release Date Remains Unconfirmed

While console players have a scheduled release date, Rockstar has yet to announce when GTA 6 will arrive on PC.

Some rumors suggest a possible launch during the first quarter of 2027, although no official announcement supports that timeframe.

The reported PS5 storage requirement also does not establish how much space the eventual PC version will need.

PC installation sizes may differ because of platform specific assets, graphics settings and other technical requirements.

If the 210GB figure proves accurate, players with limited console storage may need to uninstall existing games or expand their storage capacity.

The timing is also significant because memory and storage component prices have increased amid growing demand from AI infrastructure.

For now, the reported installation size should be treated as preliminary information. Rockstar has not published final storage requirements for GTA 6, and the official figures may only become clear closer to its November 19 release.
