Palit Denies Galax GPU Factory Closure Rumors Amid Nvidia RTX 5090 Chip Shortages

Palit has officially denied reports that it is shutting down Galax graphics card manufacturing because of insufficient Nvidia GPU supplies, confirming that production and business operations are continuing normally.

The clarification follows speculation that the company could no longer secure enough Nvidia chips to maintain manufacturing operations for its Galax brand.

In a statement released on October 28, 2026, Palit rejected the claims and confirmed that no manufacturing facilities had been closed.

The company also assured customers that Galax graphics cards remain available through existing distribution channels in domestic and international markets.

Palit Confirms Galax Graphics Card Production Is Continuing

The rumors originated from a report claiming that Palit was preparing to close a Galax manufacturing facility because it could not obtain sufficient Nvidia GPU chips.

According to the claims, the shortage would eventually prevent Galax from manufacturing new graphics cards, potentially forcing the brand to leave the market once existing inventory was exhausted.

Palit disputed this account, explaining that Galax and Palit share manufacturing facilities and that production remains operational.

The company also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting customers, partners and its existing graphics card products.

The clarification is significant because Galax recently introduced the GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme, a premium graphics card aimed at enthusiasts.

The product announcement came shortly before the factory closure rumors circulated, raising questions about the accuracy of the reported shutdown.

Nvidia RTX 5090 Shortages Continue to Raise Concerns

The speculation comes amid wider concerns about the availability of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards.

Reports of limited RTX 5090 supplies and rising retail prices have created uncertainty about production levels.

Some reports have suggested that Nvidia could prioritize higher margin professional and AI data center GPUs over consumer graphics cards.

However, these reports do not establish that Galax has stopped manufacturing GPUs.

Nvidia has also previously disputed claims that RTX 5090 production had been discontinued.

Galax Has Faced Similar Closure Rumors Before

This is not the first time questions have emerged about the future of Galax.

Earlier in 2026, Palit announced organizational changes that brought management of Galax, KFA2 and Hall of Fame products under its headquarters in Taiwan.

The restructuring prompted speculation that Galax might leave the graphics card market.

Palit subsequently clarified that the changes were intended to improve operational efficiency, supply chain management and product development.

Galax has remained part of the Palit Group since 2007.

The latest statement confirms that the company continues manufacturing and distributing graphics cards despite the broader supply challenges affecting the GPU industry.

Although the announcement addresses concerns about Galax's future, it does not resolve ongoing questions about Nvidia chip availability or rising graphics card prices.

For customers considering a Galax GPU, the company's official position remains that its products and manufacturing operations are continuing as usual.
