LG has introduced the LG UltraGear GX7, setting a new bar for OLED gaming monitors with extreme refresh rates, higher brightness, and next-generation connectivity. The company revealed the display at CES 2026, positioning it squarely at competitive esports players and high-end PC enthusiasts.
Record-breaking refresh rates and response time
The UltraGear GX7 uses a 27-inch OLED panel with a QHD resolution of 2560×1440. LG adds a dual-mode refresh system that lets users switch between 540 Hz at QHD and an unprecedented 720 Hz at 1080p, depending on whether they prioritize clarity or raw speed.
LG pairs those refresh rates with a 0.02 ms gray-to-gray response time, which sharply reduces motion blur and ghosting during fast-paced gameplay.
LG’s brightest OLED gaming panel so far
LG calls the GX7 its brightest OLED gaming monitor to date. The panel reaches around 335 nits typical brightness, boosted by new tandem OLED technology. It carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, along with UL-verified Perfect Black and Perfect Color ratings, delivering deep contrast and accurate color reproduction.
Built for modern GPUs and competitive play
The monitor supports NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring smooth gameplay across a wide range of GPUs. LG also includes VESA ClearMR 21000, one of the highest motion-clarity certifications currently available.
Connectivity matches the performance focus. The GX7 features DisplayPort 2.1, giving it enough bandwidth to handle ultra-high refresh rates with next-generation graphics cards.
Design, ergonomics, and eye comfort
LG equips the UltraGear GX7 with a fully adjustable stand that supports height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments. The display uses a near-borderless design aimed at clean multi-monitor setups.
The panel also includes anti-glare coating, flicker-free operation, and reduced blue-light features designed for long gaming sessions.
Pricing and availability
LG plans to ship the UltraGear GX7 in early February 2026. In the U.S., the monitor launches at $999.99, with early preorder buyers receiving a free 27-inch 1080p IPS gaming monitor for a limited time.
Why it matters
With refresh rates reaching 720 Hz, the UltraGear GX7 pushes OLED gaming displays into territory previously reserved for experimental esports panels. LG’s combination of speed, improved brightness, and modern connectivity signals a clear shift toward OLED becoming the default choice for elite competitive gaming setups.
