Embracer Group has confirmed that Darksiders 4 and the next Kingdom Come title are both planned for release during its 2027/28 fiscal year.
That window begins in April 2027 and ends in March 2028, giving both games a clearer launch target even though exact dates have not been announced.
The same financial report also places Tomb Raider: Catalyst in that fiscal year, meaning Embracer has several major releases planned across the same 12 month period.
Darksiders 4 will feature all four Horsemen
| Game | Planned release window | Key detail |
|---|---|---|
| Darksiders 4 | April 2027 to March 2028 | All four Horsemen playable |
| Next Kingdom Come title | April 2027 to March 2028 | Expected to be a smaller spin off |
| Tomb Raider: Catalyst | April 2027 to March 2028 | Exact year within window not confirmed |
Darksiders 4 was announced in August 2025 and is being developed by Gunfire Games.
The studio previously worked on Darksiders III and includes developers with experience on earlier entries in the series.
For the first time, War, Death, Fury and Strife will all be playable in the same Darksiders game.
Gunfire Games is also adding online co op, another first for the franchise.
Each Horseman is expected to have distinct weapons, supernatural abilities and combat styles. The game will continue to mix combat, traversal and environmental puzzles while sending players through apocalyptic locations filled with enemies, secrets and large boss encounters.
Next Kingdom Come may be smaller than a full sequel
Warhorse Studios’ next Kingdom Come project is also scheduled for the same fiscal year.
The studio had already indicated that another Kingdom Come game was planned for the 2027 to 2028 period, but Embracer’s latest report narrows that timing to between April 2027 and March 2028.
There has been some uncertainty about the scope of the project because Kingdom Come: Deliverance II only launched in February 2025.
A trademark reportedly points to the title Kingdom Come Salvation, which has led to speculation that the project could be a smaller spin off rather than Kingdom Come: Deliverance III.
Warhorse has said the game will continue to focus on the realistic and immersive design associated with the series.
The studio is also in early development on a separate role playing game based on The Lord of the Rings.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst is planned for the same fiscal year
Embracer’s report also confirms Tomb Raider: Catalyst for fiscal 2027/28.
The company did not specify whether it will arrive during calendar 2027 or in the opening months of 2028.
That leaves some uncertainty around its exact position in a busy release schedule that will also include Darksiders 4 and the next Kingdom Come project.
Embracer reports stronger quarterly results
The release window confirmations arrived alongside improved financial results.
Embracer reported group net sales of SEK 3.943 billion for the quarter, up 24% year over year, while organic growth reached 33%.

Cash EBIT improved from a loss of SEK 99 million in the same period last year to a positive SEK 47 million.
The company’s PC, console, mobile and distribution segment performed particularly well, with sales rising 48%.
Gothic 1 Remake was a major contributor after selling 500,000 copies during its first week and moving close to profitability.
With Darksiders 4, the next Kingdom Come game and Tomb Raider: Catalyst now all positioned inside the April 2027 to March 2028 period, Embracer has given players a much clearer picture of its next major release cycle.
