Google is preparing to promote Gemini inside Chrome for Android with a new message aimed at users who have not tried it yet. The prompt introduces Gemini directly from Chrome’s three-dot app menu on Android.
Gemini is Google’s AI assistant built into Chrome. It lets users get answers without leaving the browser. You can ask questions, get quick explanations, summarize long articles, and pull key takeaways from the page you are viewing.
Google has integrated Gemini across its ecosystem over the past several months. It powers AI Mode, replaces Assistant on many Android devices, and appears across Search and other Google services. It is not available in Chrome for Android yet. However, Google has started showing a promo in Chrome Canary ahead of potential release versions.
“Try Gemini in Chrome to get answers, key takeaways and more,” the message reads.

The message appears briefly and disappears automatically, leaving little time for interaction. This could change as testing continues.
According to a Glic Android feature engagement commit we spotted, the promo appears only once and only if the user has not opened Gemini in Chrome before.
If you have not tried Gemini inside Chrome, the browser will prompt you. After you interact with it, the message will not appear again. It may reach release versions of Chrome in the future.
