Bloodborne's unofficial PC version has gained another major feature, with a new seamless co op mod allowing up to five hunters to stay together throughout the entire game.
The mod, called BBSC, works with the shadPS4 emulator and the unofficial Windows build of Bloodborne. Instead of using the original game's temporary summoning system, it keeps the multiplayer session active through deaths, lamps, area transitions, bosses and visits to the Hunter's Dream.
That makes cooperative play much closer to a traditional shared campaign.
Up to Five Hunters Can Stay Together
BBSC supports one host and up to four guests.
Once connected, guests remain with the host as the group travels between locations, uses lamps, fights bosses and moves through the wider game.
Deaths no longer automatically break the session, and guests can respawn alongside the rest of the group.
| Feature | BBSC support |
|---|---|
| Maximum players | Five |
| Session persists through death | Yes |
| Area transitions | Yes |
| Hunter's Dream | Yes |
| Boss fights | Yes |
| Individual characters | Yes |
| Shared progression | Optional |
| Enemy scaling | Based on player count |
| Public servers | Supported |
| Self hosted servers | Supported |
| Split screen | Supported |
Each player keeps their own character progression, including levels, Blood Echoes and items.
That is a significant difference from a simple shared save system because everyone can continue developing their own hunter while participating in the same campaign.
Shared Progression Can Be Enabled
The mod also includes optional shared progression.
When enabled, boss kills and unlocked shortcuts from the host's world can be added to guest worlds.
Guests still receive boss rewards and enemy drops during cooperative sessions.
Items that have already been collected do not simply reappear, helping the mod retain some of Bloodborne's normal item progression rules.
This system is designed to make a full cooperative playthrough possible without forcing every player to repeat the same content separately in their own world afterward.
Enemy Difficulty Scales With Group Size
Adding four extra hunters could easily remove much of Bloodborne's difficulty, so BBSC includes enemy scaling based on the number of players in the session.
How well that balancing works across the entire game will likely determine how satisfying the mod feels over a complete playthrough.

Bloodborne was originally designed primarily around solo combat, with multiplayer acting as temporary assistance.
Bosses, enemy placements and encounters were not built around permanent five player groups.
The scaling system therefore has to compensate for the much greater damage output and flexibility available to a larger party.
The Mod Removes Bloodborne's Traditional Summoning Limits
In the original Bloodborne, cooperative multiplayer is deliberately restrictive.
Players use specific items to summon other hunters into their world, and those guests normally remain only until the area boss is defeated or the session otherwise ends.
Afterward, the summoned player returns to their own world.
BBSC removes most of those limitations.
The mod includes its own co op tools, including the Hunt Bell, Kin Bell, Bloodlust Bell, Parting Blank and Duel Bell.
These tools do not consume Insight, and the Duel Bell can be used to toggle PvP functionality.
The mod also replaces some of the original multiplayer terminology with clearer messages designed around its persistent co op system.
Public Servers, LAN and Split Screen Are Supported
BBSC offers several ways to connect.
Players can use a public server or host their own sessions through tools and networks such as Radmin VPN, Tailscale, LAN or a VPS.
Split screen support is also available through Nucleus Co op.
That gives the project more flexibility than Bloodborne's original online system and makes it possible to build private cooperative sessions without relying entirely on external matchmaking.
Bloodborne on PC Keeps Moving Beyond the PS4 Version
The seamless co op mod arrives as the unofficial Bloodborne PC scene continues to expand.
Modders have already been experimenting with improved visuals, path tracing and other features that were never available in the original PlayStation 4 release.
With BBSC adding a persistent multiplayer structure, the unofficial version is becoming substantially different from the original game.
It is still not an official PC release or remake, and it depends on community developed tools and ports.
Even so, the ability to play the full Bloodborne campaign with up to five hunters, carry progression across worlds and stay connected through bosses and area changes is one of the most significant additions the modding community has produced so far.
