ASUS ROG XG27AQDMGR 1300-Nit Glossy WOLED Monitor Drops to $384 at Amazon

The ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR is $384.00 at Amazon, and ASUS is running the same monitor at $399.00 in its own store. The real gap is $15.00, not the $215.00 implied by the $599.00 list price.

The anchor itself holds up. ASUS still lists the earlier XG27AQDMG at $599.00 with no discount applied, so $599.00 is a figure the company does charge.

What the R in XG27AQDMGR changes

ASUS calls this SKU the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen2. On a retailer shelf, the trailing R is the only thing separating it from the original.

The two models have separate ASUS product pages. ASUS publishes no change list between them, although the Gen2 page claims 38% less ambient reflection than the previous glossy WOLED generation.

The panel is WOLED, not QD-OLED. ASUS announced this monitor in March 2026 next to the XG27ACDMS and XG27AQDMES, and both of those siblings use QD-OLED instead.

That distinction is easy to lose, because 1440p 240Hz QD-OLED monitors now sit at similar prices. The ASUS spec page lists the display surface as "Glossy (TrueBlack Glossy)". ASUS describes it as a zero-haze optical layer with an anti-reflective stack.

A 1300-nit peak under a DisplayHDR 400 certificate

ASUS rates peak brightness at 1300 nits in its launch release. The figure carries a footnote saying peak brightness may vary due to color pre-calibration, which is a reminder that display calibration moves the number.

No window size is attached to the rating. ASUS publishes no 3%, 10% or 100% window figure for this model, and no sustained full-screen brightness number.

The certificate is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black, the entry tier for OLED. VESA has since added a True Black 1400 tier for brighter panels.

The US ROG spec page is thin elsewhere too. It has no rows at all for brightness, contrast ratio, response time, bit depth or DCI-P3 coverage.

Burn-in coverage, and where ASUS states it

The warranty row on that spec page reads "3 years (including panel burn-in)", which is the clearest statement ASUS makes on the subject. The March launch release mentions only a three-year warranty, and the marketing page does not state burn-in cover either.

ASUS support adds a wrinkle. Its OLED warranty FAQ says a unit's box or warranty card may still print a two-year term while the product is covered for three.

Mitigation runs through OLED Care Pro, which groups Pixel Cleaning, Screen Move, Logo Brightness Adjustment and Target Mode. A Neo Proximity Sensor blanks the screen when the user steps away, and ASUS says it needs correct angling and a wipe with the bundled cloth first.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 is $429.99 and the Alienware AW2725DF is $574.99. Both are QD-OLED, and both come from marketplace sellers rather than Amazon.

Amazon shows only 12 left of the Samsung and only 3 of the Alienware. The ASUS listing shows no stock warning, and Amazon is both seller and shipper, which is a steadier footing than most 27-inch 240Hz OLED deals arrive on.

ASUS has not said when its own $399.00 promotion ends, and the Amazon listing carries no end date. The company publishes no US launch price for the model, and no sRGB, contrast or Delta E figure on the spec page.

Amazon's own listing is not consistent on size, pairing a 27-inch title with a bullet that calls the panel 26.5 inches. Prices were accurate at the time of writing and can change without notice.
