Amazon has cut the Hisense 85-inch E7 Cinema Series mini-LED TV to $947.99 from a $1,199.99 list price. Hisense's own spec table gives that 85-inch backlight 144 local dimming zones, the same number it publishes for the 50-inch model in the range.

The set is a 4K Hi-QLED mini-LED panel with a native 144Hz refresh rate, running Fire TV with Alexa built in. Hisense rates it at up to 600 nits, which is a restrained ceiling for a 2026 mini-LED of this size.
That matters because the listing says something different. Amazon's first bullet credits the backlight with "thousands of precise light zones", and Hisense's own US product page for the 85E7SF says "hundreds".
The company's own spec table says 144.

What 144 zones look like across 85 inches
Hisense lists 144 zones and up to 600 nits for every size in the E7SF range, from the 50-inch up to this 85-inch. The screen grows by roughly three times in area, and the published zone count does not move.
Each zone therefore covers more of the picture here than on any smaller set in the series. Haloing around bright objects on dark backgrounds tends to follow that arithmetic.
None of this makes the panel bad for the money. It does mean the contrast language on the listing is doing more work than the number behind it, which is worth knowing before spending $947.99.
For a sense of where this sits, the 55-inch version of the same E7SF series recently sold for $548.99.
Gaming features and port layout
The 144Hz figure is genuine rather than an interpolated motion number, and Hisense's spec table confirms it as the native rate. Variable refresh rate, auto low latency mode and FreeSync Premium Pro are all listed, alongside Dolby Vision and HDR10+ gaming modes.
Of the four HDMI inputs, only two are HDMI 2.1. Hisense's own 144Hz artwork also carries a footnote saying the rate requires a compatible connection from a compatible PC over HDMI.
Audio is the usual large-screen compromise at 2 x 10W, so a soundbar is close to mandatory. The platform is Fire TV rather than Google TV, a distinction set out in this guide to the difference between a Fire TV and a smart TV.
How the 85E7SF compares with other 85-inch mini-LED sets
Amazon holds the buy box on all three of the closest alternatives, and each is in stock. The Hisense 85U6SF Pro is $149.98 more, the Toshiba 85Z670R is $200 more, and the Hisense 85S7SG CanvasTV is an art-panel model at a much higher price.
| Model | Price | List price | As the listing describes it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hisense 85E7SF | $947.99 | $1,199.99 | Hi-QLED mini-LED, native 144Hz, Fire TV |
| Hisense 85U6SF Pro | $1,097.97 | $1,999.99 | Hi-QLED mini-LED ULED, native 144Hz, glare-free, Fire TV |
| Toshiba 85Z670R | $1,147.99 | $1,299.99 | QLED mini-LED, native 144Hz, REGZA Engine Zri, Fire TV |
| Hisense 85S7SG CanvasTV | $1,797.99 | $3,999.99 | Hi-QLED anti-glare matte panel, 144Hz, Google TV |
No zone count or brightness figure is published for any of those three, so the table compares only what the listings state. Larger panels at lower prices do appear, as the 98-inch TCL QM64L at $1,799.99 showed earlier this month.
What Hisense does not publish
Hisense does not sell the 85E7SF directly and lists no US price for it, so the $1,199.99 anchor cannot be checked against the maker. Price trackers have reported the set below $1,000 earlier in 2026, which makes the $252 saving a figure measured against a number the TV has not always carried.
There is no measured brightness, no contrast ratio, no colour-gamut percentage and no input-lag figure anywhere in Hisense's published material. Amazon gives no end date for the discount either.
Prices move, so the $947.99 shown at the time of writing may not hold.
