Ubisoft is giving eligible Xbox owners free PC versions of 13 games they already own digitally on console.
The offer applies to selected titles from franchises including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, The Crew, and Watch Dogs. The PC versions are accessed through Ubisoft Connect rather than directly through the Xbox app on PC.
For most supported games, the edition and downloadable content linked to the Xbox purchase should also carry over. Ubisoft warns that in game currency and certain one time use items may not transfer.
Existing owners are receiving the PC versions through a gradual rollout that is expected to continue until August 4. New digital purchases of the listed games should provide access to both the Xbox console and PC versions immediately.
The offer only works from Xbox to PC
The promotion is one way only.
Owning an eligible digital Xbox copy can grant access to the Ubisoft Connect PC version. Owning the PC version does not provide a free Xbox console copy.
Physical Xbox discs are not mentioned as eligible, so the offer appears limited to digital purchases connected to an Xbox and Ubisoft account.

The selection covers several recent Ubisoft releases and gives Xbox owners another way to play them on desktop PCs and Windows handhelds.
For players with a more powerful computer, the PC versions may offer higher frame rates, broader graphics options, ultrawide support, or access to community modifications where supported.
Save transfers and achievements may vary
The free versions are delivered through Ubisoft Connect, which means they are not necessarily the same as native Xbox Play Anywhere releases.
Xbox achievements may not be supported when a game launches only through Ubisoft’s PC client. The exact achievement behaviour depends on the individual game and how its PC integration is configured.
Save data is another area that can vary.
Many newer Ubisoft games support cross progression through the publisher’s own account system. When enabled, this can allow progress to move between console and PC versions.
However, players should not assume every game in the list supports complete save synchronisation. Older releases may use separate save files, while certain settings or progression systems may remain platform specific.
This promotion therefore provides access to the game itself, but it does not guarantee all the features normally associated with Xbox Play Anywhere.
Ubisoft’s growing Xbox PC presence may support future plans
More than 80 Ubisoft products recently appeared in the Xbox Store on PC, suggesting a wider expansion of the publisher’s catalogue across Microsoft’s computer platform.
The free copy programme is part of the same broader partnership, although the complimentary versions currently rely on Ubisoft Connect.
This could be an early step toward deeper integration between Xbox console ownership and PC access. It may also support Microsoft’s long term interest in hardware that combines console and PC features.
However, there is no confirmation that these games will receive full Play Anywhere support or that future Ubisoft releases will follow the same model.
For now, eligible Xbox owners should check Ubisoft Connect before buying a second PC copy. Access may appear at any point during the rollout period, and the listed games should be added automatically once the connected accounts are recognised.
