Xbox is rolling out its refreshed achievement update to all players after testing it with Insiders in April.
The update gives achievements a cleaner look, with new unlock animations and updated icons. The new popup also adapts to your chosen Xbox color scheme, so achievement notifications should feel more consistent with your profile style.
The bigger practical change is the ability to hide games from your public profile history. That means you can remove certain games from public view without losing any Gamerscore earned from them. Hidden games still count toward your total score, so the feature is mainly about privacy and profile cleanup.

Xbox profiles are also getting small improvements. Games you have fully completed will now stand out more clearly when browsing your achievement list. That should make completion progress easier to notice, especially for players who care about 100 percent runs.
Here is what is changing:
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| New achievement popup | Updated animation and visual style |
| Color matching | Unlock notifications use your chosen Xbox color scheme |
| Hide games | Lets you remove selected games from your public profile history |
| Gamerscore protection | Hidden games still count toward total Gamerscore |
| Profile improvements | Completed games are easier to spot in your achievements list |
Achievements have been part of Xbox since the Xbox 360 era, but they have not changed much in recent years. This update is not a full overhaul, but it is a useful refresh for players who like tracking progress, cleaning up their profile, or showing off completed games.
The hide game option may be the most welcome part of the update. It gives players more control over how their profile looks without punishing them for what they have already played.
Xbox may still do more with achievements later, especially after asking players for feedback. For now, this rollout gives the system a cleaner visual style and a few quality of life changes that achievement hunters have wanted for a long time.
