Uperfect UFree V review says portable monitors finally feel more wireless

The Uperfect UFree V is a 15.6 inch portable monitor built around one clear idea: you should not need cables every time you want a second screen. Most portable monitors are thin and light, but they still need a wired connection for power or display input. The UFree V tries to solve that with a built in battery and wireless screen mirroring.

At $189, it is aimed more at travel, remote work, and quick productivity than gaming or color critical creative work.

The main appeal is simple setup without cables

The UFree V has an 8000 mAh battery, so it can run without being plugged into a wall or power bank once charged. It also supports wireless screen mirroring from Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices. In the review, connecting an Android phone took less than a minute.

You can also use it with cables when needed. It includes two USB Type C ports, a mini HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. That means it can still work with laptops, desktops, consoles, phones, and tablets if wireless mode is not the best option.

The display itself is practical rather than premium. It uses a Full HD IPS panel with a matte surface, 178 degree viewing angles, and a claimed 100% sRGB color gamut. Brightness is listed around 270 to 350 nits depending on source and testing. That is fine for office work, browsing, writing, and general productivity.

There are clear limits. It has no HDR, no FreeSync, no touch support, and a high 30ms response time. That makes it a poor fit for fast gaming. The review also says it is not ideal for color accurate work such as grading.

The included accessories help the value. The box includes two Type C cables, a mini HDMI cable, a power adapter, a carry bag, and a foldable Bluetooth keyboard with a trackpad. The keyboard is not described as excellent, but it helps create a compact mobile setup when paired with a phone or tablet.

The built in kickstand also seems sturdy, which matters more than it sounds. A portable monitor can become annoying quickly if it wobbles or needs awkward support. The UFree V also supports VESA mounting if you want a more fixed setup.

The weak speakers are not surprising. The monitor includes two 1W speakers, but the review says they are not useful for much. If audio matters, you will want headphones or external speakers.

The UFree V works best if you want a second screen that can move between devices easily. It is useful for writing, reading, dashboards, light office work, phone mirroring, travel setups, or quick work sessions away from a desk.

It is not the right choice if you want high refresh gaming, strong speakers, touch input, HDR, or accurate color work. But as a cable free portable display, the review makes it sound like one of the more practical options in its price range.

For me, the most useful part is not the specs. It is the fact that the monitor can work without turning every setup into a cable mess. That is what makes it feel closer to a real portable screen.
