Team Group’s new DDR5 memory reaches 8000 MT/s at just 1.1V

Team Group has launched new Elite and Elite Plus DDR5 memory kits that reach 8000 MT/s while staying at the standard 1.1V operating voltage.

That is the important part. DDR5 memory running at 8000 MT/s is not rare anymore, but most high speed enthusiast kits need much more voltage to hit that level. Many 8000 MT/s kits operate around 1.35V to 1.4V, which increases power use and heat.

Team Group’s new modules are different because they reach the same speed at JEDEC standard voltage. That should make them more efficient and potentially more reliable for long term use.

The timings are loose at CL56 56 56 128, so these kits are not built like aggressive low latency overclocking memory. The advantage is efficiency. Running at 8000 MT/s without pushing voltage higher should help reduce power draw, heat, and stress on the memory modules.

Team Group says the kits also offer stronger signal integrity than conventional high frequency DDR5 modules. The company has shown the memory running under real workloads, which suggests the kits are not just hitting a headline speed for validation screenshots.

The first kits will launch in 2 x 16GB configurations. Higher capacity kits are planned later, but Team Group has not shared details yet.

The new Elite and Elite Plus DDR5 8000 MT/s kits are expected to reach shelves in North America in June 2026. Wider availability in other regions should follow later.

This launch comes at a time when memory pricing and availability are under pressure. AI demand has pushed DRAM and NAND markets higher, while fake DDR5 modules have also started appearing in some PC markets. Reliable mainstream memory that can hit high speeds at lower voltage could become more attractive if pricing is reasonable.

These kits may not replace premium enthusiast memory for overclockers chasing the lowest timings. But for users who want high DDR5 speed without high voltage, Team Group’s new Elite and Elite Plus modules are interesting.

The main achievement is simple: 8000 MT/s at 1.1V. That gives Team Group a practical performance and efficiency story at a time when DDR5 is getting faster, hotter, and more expensive.
