Gravity Rush 2 is becoming much easier to play on PC through ShadPS4, thanks to a new GR2fork 3.0 update focused on performance, stability, and Steam Deck support.
The update brings up to 30 percent better performance through a redesigned GPU communication system. The developer has changed the gpucomm thread from a single heavy design into a dual core setup, reducing one of the emulator’s main bottlenecks. That should make Gravity Rush 2 feel smoother on supported hardware.
The update also reduces CPU power draw by around 20 percent by using idle detection and sleep behavior in the GpuComm dispatcher loop. That could help handheld devices, where power use and heat matter as much as raw performance.
| GR2fork 3.0 feature | What it improves |
|---|---|
| Dual core GPUComm redesign | Up to 30 percent better performance |
| CPU affinity logic | Pins key threads to stronger CPU cores |
| Lower CPU power draw | Around 20 percent reduction |
| Intel performance patches | Better behavior on Intel CPUs |
| Steam Deck preset | Automatic settings for Valve’s handheld |
| Resolution patches | Support from 540p up to 8K |
| Gravity Rush Remastered support | Adds support for the first game’s remaster |
| Input mapping options | Better control setup for touchpad and shifting styles |
The biggest quality of life change is initial Steam Deck support. GR2fork now includes a Steam Deck preset in its custom launcher, which automatically chooses better settings for the handheld. Before this, players had to manually edit settings to get a more stable experience. The new preset moves the emulator closer to a plug and play setup for Gravity Rush 2 on the go.

The update also adds support for Gravity Rush Remastered. That is important because both Gravity Rush games remain tied to PlayStation hardware officially, with no native PC releases. Earlier emulator builds could run them in some form, but glitches and instability often made the experience rough.
GR2fork 3.0 also includes cache toggles that can help fix flickering or other graphical problems in either Gravity Rush game. Crash fixes, better diagnostics, and fixes for silent window exits should make testing less frustrating.
Intel systems get extra attention too. The update includes Intel specific performance patches and core detection for hybrid CPUs. That means the emulator can favor Performance cores over Efficient cores when pinning gpucomm work, which should help with smoother performance on newer Intel laptops and desktops.
The launcher also adds more input mapping options. Touchpad swipes can now be mapped to different controls, including controller buttons, keyboard keys, touchscreen input, or touchpad input. That matters for Gravity Rush 2 because shifting styles rely on control behavior that is not always simple to recreate outside PlayStation hardware.
This is still an emulator fork, not an official PC port. Players should expect some issues, and they still need legally obtained game copies. But the progress is clear. Gravity Rush 2 is no longer only a rough experiment on PC. With better performance, lower power use, Steam Deck presets, and Gravity Rush Remastered support, ShadPS4 GR2fork is making Sony’s gravity bending series more accessible than before.
