PRAGMATA passes 2 million sales as PS5 Pro version gets a visual upgrade

CAPCOM’s PRAGMATA has reached more than 2 million copies sold worldwide less than a month after launch.

The milestone is a strong result for a new IP that spent years in development before finally arriving on PC and consoles. PRAGMATA had already crossed 1 million sales within its first few days, and its momentum has now carried it past another major mark.

CAPCOM also released update 1.21, which brings notable improvements to the PlayStation 5 Pro version. The update raises the game’s internal resolution from 864p to 1080p, giving the image a cleaner and sharper look. Ray traced reflections have also been improved.

The best part is that performance does not appear to take a major hit from these upgrades. The PS5 Pro version still targets a fairly stable 60 FPS, making it the strongest console version of the game in terms of image quality.

Here is a quick look at the update:

AreaChange
SalesMore than 2 million copies worldwide
Time since launchLess than one month
Update version1.21
PS5 Pro resolutionRaised from 864p to 1080p internally
Ray tracingReflections improved
PerformanceStill around 60 FPS
Console positionStrongest current generation console version

PRAGMATA has connected with players through its focused design and central relationship between Hugh and Diana. The game does not try to be a huge open world experience. It uses a more direct structure, with real time hacking mechanics giving combat its main twist.

Its story may not be the most ambitious part of the game, but the simple structure appears to be working in its favor. PRAGMATA feels closer to an older style action game, with less clutter and a clear focus on movement, combat, and progression.

For CAPCOM, the 2 million sales mark is a good sign. New IPs can be risky, especially after a long development cycle, but PRAGMATA has found a strong audience quickly. The new PS5 Pro improvements should also give console players one more reason to jump in, especially if they want the cleanest version available outside PC.
