LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight appears to run well on Steam Deck

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is now drawing attention from Steam Deck players, and early video impressions suggest the game is more playable on Valve’s handheld than its PC specs first suggested.

The new LEGO Batman game mixes the familiar LEGO formula with ideas that seem inspired by the Arkham series, including combat and stealth. That made Steam Deck performance an important question, especially because the listed PC requirements looked more demanding than expected.

According to a review video from MrMattyPlays, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight runs on Steam Deck at the lowest settings with FSR set to Balanced and Frame Generation turned off. In that setup, the game reportedly moves between 30FPS and 60FPS depending on the area.

The strongest performance seems to come in contained story mission areas, which are closer to traditional LEGO game levels. In those sections, the game can reportedly reach 60FPS. The open world appears more demanding and can stutter more often, so a 30FPS cap may be the better option if you want steadier performance.

That is still good news. The earlier PC spec sheet had raised concerns because it included some strange requirements, including a mention of Frame Generation for 30FPS. Based on this early testing, those specs may have been overly cautious or poorly listed.

The game is also marked as Steam Deck Verified, which means Valve considers it suitable for handheld play. That does not guarantee perfect performance everywhere, but it is a good sign that the game works properly with the Deck’s controls, display, and software environment.

There are still some missing details. The video did not give full benchmark data, average frame rates, or battery life estimates. A deeper Steam Deck test will still be useful, especially for open world performance, shader stutter, settings balance, and how long the battery lasts.

Even with those limits, the early result is encouraging. LEGO games are often a good fit for handheld play because they work well in short sessions, and Legacy of the Dark Knight could be especially appealing if it delivers a bigger Batman adventure without breaking Steam Deck compatibility.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is available on Steam for $69.99. For Steam Deck owners, the safest expectation is not a locked 60FPS experience across the whole game, but a playable setup that should work well with a 30FPS cap and FSR enabled.
