Square Enix has added Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana to GOG, giving PC players another way to buy and keep two well liked entries from the Mana series. Both games are now available as DRM free releases, which makes this a useful addition for players who care about game ownership and long term preservation.
GOG’s main appeal is simple. Unlike most modern PC stores, it sells games without DRM. That means you can download installers and keep them without needing a launcher to verify ownership every time you play. Steam remains the much larger platform, but GOG continues to stand out for players who want fewer restrictions around the games they buy.
That makes these Mana releases more meaningful than a normal store listing. Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana are both strong additions to GOG’s growing Square Enix catalog, especially for fans who want classic and modern Japanese RPGs available in a more preservation friendly format.
Square Enix is slowly building a stronger DRM free RPG catalog on GOG
Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana are also part of a wider Square Enix sale on GOG. Legend of Mana is currently listed at $11.99 with a 60 percent discount, while Trials of Mana is available for $14.99 with a 70 percent discount. Several Final Fantasy and SaGa titles are also discounted, giving players a broader group of Square Enix RPGs to pick from.
The list includes Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy III 3D Remake, Final Fantasy IV 3D Remake, Romancing SaGa 2, Romancing SaGa 3, SaGa Frontier Remastered, and SaGa Scarlet Grace Ambitions. It is not a complete Square Enix catalog, but it shows that the publisher is bringing more of its older and mid range RPG library to GOG.
| Game | Current GOG sale price |
|---|---|
| Legend of Mana | $11.99 |
| Trials of Mana | $14.99 |
| Final Fantasy VII | $4.79 |
| Final Fantasy VIII Remastered | $7.99 |
| Final Fantasy IX | $6.29 |
| Final Fantasy III 3D Remake | $7.99 |
| Final Fantasy IV 3D Remake | $7.99 |
| Romancing SaGa 2 | $7.49 |
| Romancing SaGa 3 | $8.69 |
| SaGa Frontier Remastered | $12.49 |
| SaGa Scarlet Grace Ambitions | $8.99 |
The Steam Deck angle also matters. SteamDeckHQ says both Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana run well on Valve’s handheld, which makes the GOG releases useful for players who already use the Steam Deck as a portable RPG machine. GOG games are not as simple to install on Steam Deck as Steam purchases, but once set up, they can work well.

There are still some missing games. Visions of Mana, the most recent entry in the series, is not part of this GOG arrival. Other Mana titles are also absent. Even so, adding Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana is a welcome step because it gives players more choice in where and how they buy these games.
For anyone who values DRM free ownership, this is good news. The Mana series has a long history, and every additional release on GOG helps make these games easier to preserve and replay in the future. Square Enix still has more work to do if it wants its RPG catalog fully represented there, but this is another solid move in the right direction.
