Microsoft used its latest ID@Xbox and IGN showcase to give players a fresh look at many upcoming indie games for Xbox and PC. The event focused on smaller games from independent teams, rather than big first-party releases, and several of the titles shown are coming to Xbox Game Pass. Many of them will also support Xbox Play Anywhere, which means players can move between Xbox consoles and Xbox on PC with shared ownership and progress.
Game Pass is becoming a major home for creative indie games across Xbox consoles, PC, and cloud
The showcase made one thing clear: Xbox wants Game Pass to be a strong place for indie games. Players got updates on a wide mix of titles, from relaxing management games to co-op adventures, RPGs, platformers, and strange experimental ideas.
One of the more charming games shown was Beastro. It is a roguelike RPG with a fun twist. Instead of playing as the hero who saves the world, players take the role of a chef who prepares meals for adventurers. The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 21, and it will be available through Xbox Game Pass.
Deep Dish Dungeon also uses food as part of its identity, but in a darker way. It is a survival exploration game where players move through a puzzle-filled dungeon, craft items, cook, and survive either alone or with others. It is planned for Fall 2026 and will come to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud, PC, and Game Pass.
The showcase also included more relaxed games. inKONBINI puts players in charge of a small convenience store inspired by early 1990s Japan. It is coming on April 30, 2026, to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud, PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. It will also be included with Xbox Game Pass.
For players who want action, there were several options. Vapor World: Over the Mind is a story-driven Soulslike side-scrolling platformer, and a demo is planned for June. Mistfall Hunter is a fantasy extraction RPG where teams enter a dangerous area, fight monsters and other players, and try to escape. It is coming in July with Game Pass support.
Co-op fans also have a lot to watch. Crashout Crew looks like a chaotic physics game about handling boxes with forklifts, while RV There Yet? brings a silly road trip adventure to Xbox after finding popularity on PC. Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions will expand the Astroneer universe with co-op space adventures.
Other games shown included Echo Generation 2, Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School, Golf With Your Friends 2, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, Tears of Metal, Screenbound, Totopia, Albion Online, Lofsong, Kalanoro, Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive, Vampire Crawlers, and There Are No Ghosts at the Grand.
The event showed how wide the indie space has become on Xbox. Some games are funny, some are cozy, some are built for friends, and others are more serious or experimental. Microsoft may use its biggest showcases for major releases, but ID@Xbox continues to be the place where unusual and creative games get time in the spotlight.
