Humble's Cozy After Dark Bundle Packs 10 Games for $12, but Only Eight Are Steam Deck Verified

Humble Bundle is selling ten cozy, night-themed indie games for $12 in its Cozy After Dark Showcase Bundle, and the collection is being sold on how well it suits a handheld. Checking each game's own Steam listing, eight of the ten carry Valve's Steam Deck Verified badge. The other two do not.

The bundle has two fixed tiers. Paying $8 unlocks five games, and paying $12 unlocks all ten. Humble also offers optional amounts of $25, $30, $35 and $40, none of which adds a game.

What the $8 and $12 tiers unlock

The $8 tier covers the murder mystery Paradise Killer, the puzzle game Escape From Mystwood Mansion, The Darkside Detective, Kathy Rain: Director's Cut and the short visual novel a pet shop after dark.

The extra $4 adds vampire sim Cabernet, horror game Fear the Spotlight, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, Gloomy Eyes and Spooky Express. Every game is delivered as a Steam key, and Humble requires a linked Steam account to redeem them.

Humble's own bundle page flags The Darkside Detective as at risk, meaning its key supply could run out before the bundle closes. Humble does not say how many keys are left. It has not published a redemption deadline for the keys either.

Eight Verified, one Playable, one never tested

Eight games in the bundle are rated Steam Deck Verified by Valve. Those are Paradise Killer, Escape From Mystwood Mansion, The Darkside Detective, Kathy Rain: Director's Cut, Cabernet, Fear the Spotlight, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, and Spooky Express.

Gloomy Eyes is rated Playable instead. Valve's test notes say its controller setup works and its default settings perform well, but that its interface text is not legible on the Deck. That is a readability caveat rather than a performance problem, and it is the only thing keeping the game off the Verified list.

The tenth game, a pet shop after dark, has no rating at all. Valve returns an untested result for it, so there is no compatibility claim in either direction. It does ship a native Linux build, which usually helps on SteamOS, but that is not the same as a Valve check.

Nothing in the bundle is marked Unsupported, so the handheld pitch mostly holds. Ratings do move, since Proton updates and developer patches can change how a game behaves on the Deck. Humble has used handheld compatibility as a hook before, including a $10 handheld bundle built around seven Verified games.

The Steam prices behind the $176 claim

Humble says the games normally cost as much as $176 in total. Adding up each game's regular Steam price gives $176.90 as of October 15, 2026, so that figure checks out against Steam's list prices.

The live comparison is smaller. Three of the ten are running their own Steam discounts right now. Paradise Killer is 75% off at $4.99, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo is 50% off at $9.99, and Escape From Mystwood Mansion is 50% off at $8.49.

Buying all ten separately on Steam on October 15, 2026 costs $143.40, not $176.90. Against that total the $12 tier saves $131.40, which works out to about $1.20 a game.

The $8 tier is the weaker of the two. Its five games list for $76.95 but cost $53.45 on Steam today, because the three discounted titles all sit in that tier. The $4 step up adds five games worth $99.95 at list price.

Where the money goes and when it ends

The charity partner is Dames 4 Games, a California nonprofit that supports women and femme-identifying people working in games. Donations run through PayPal Giving Fund.

Humble's default split sends 60% of a payment to publishers, 20% to Humble as a tip and 5% to the charity. Buyers can change those shares at checkout. The three defaults add up to 85%, and Humble's public page data does not say where the remaining 15% goes.

At the time of writing the bundle had drawn 1,687 purchases and raised $2,854 for Dames 4 Games, at an average payment of $13.03. The listing is live at https://www.humblebundle.com/games/cozy-after-dark-showcase-bundle.

The bundle ends on the evening of November 2, 2026 in the United States, which Humble records as 2:00 am UTC on November 3. Shoppers outside the US may see $9.44 and $14.16 instead of $8 and $12, because Humble adds local tax to the tier price. All prices here are from Humble and Steam on October 15, 2026 and can change before the bundle closes.
