Gran Turismo 7 is getting a major free update on June 11, and this time Polyphony Digital is going straight for endurance racing fans. The update will add four Le Mans Hypercars: the Peugeot 9X8, Ferrari 499P, Porsche 963, and BMW M Hybrid V8. A new 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 safety car is also included.
The reveal happened during Round 1 in Milan of the Gran Turismo World Series 2026. Polyphony usually teases new cars through shadowy silhouettes before confirming the full lineup, but this update was shown directly through a trailer. That made the announcement feel more like a special Le Mans focused drop than a normal monthly content update.
The June update arrives just in time for Le Mans hype
The four new Hypercars are the main attraction. These are modern endurance racing machines built for top level competition, and their arrival gives Gran Turismo 7 a stronger connection to current real world motorsport. The timing also makes sense because the update lands close to the Le Mans racing season, giving players a reason to recreate that atmosphere in game.
| Car | Type |
|---|---|
| Peugeot 9X8 | Le Mans Hypercar |
| Ferrari 499P | Le Mans Hypercar |
| Porsche 963 | Le Mans Hypercar |
| BMW M Hybrid V8 | Le Mans Hypercar |
| Porsche 911 GT3 S/C 2026 | Safety car |
The Ferrari 499P will likely get a lot of attention because of Ferrari’s recent endurance racing success. The Porsche 963 is another major addition, especially for fans of Porsche’s long Le Mans history. The Peugeot 9X8 stands out with its unusual design, while the BMW M Hybrid V8 gives players another modern prototype option.
The Porsche 911 GT3 safety car is a smaller but fun addition. In real racing, safety cars control the field when incidents happen on track. Gran Turismo 7 may not use it in exactly the same way during normal races, but players can still drive it and use the sirens for fun.

Polyphony has not fully detailed everything else in the update yet. Based on past updates, it is likely to include new Scapes, events, race content, or other smaller changes. The studio usually confirms the full patch notes closer to release.
Gran Turismo 7 has continued to receive steady support since launching for PS4 and PS5 in March 2022. The game has added many cars, tracks, events, and features over time, and its current form is much larger than it was at release. The recent Power Pack also added 50 races across 20 categories as paid content, showing that Polyphony is still investing in both free and premium updates.
This June update should be especially appealing for players who enjoy endurance racing, prototype cars, and real world motorsport tie ins. Four Le Mans Hypercars in one free update is a strong lineup, and it gives Gran Turismo 7 one of its most focused car drops in recent months.
The update arrives on June 11 for PS4 and PS5. For players who have been waiting for more modern endurance machines, this is one of the clearest reasons to return to Gran Turismo 7.
