Google's own regional compare tables show the five Googlebook laptops are not the same machines in every country. One model ships with a faster processor in the United Kingdom than in the United States, and Canada's page lists memory, storage and chip options the US page never shows.
The price ladders differ as well. The Acer Googlebook 14 starts at $899 in the US, £999 in the UK and $1,299 in Canadian dollars, on the three compare pages Google publishes for those markets.
Every figure below is the price Google publishes in that region's own currency, with no conversion applied. The gaps do not line up neatly with exchange rates.
Googlebook starting prices in three currencies
These are the base prices from Google's US, UK and Canadian compare pages, checked on September 26, 2026.

Two patterns stand out. The Lenovo Googlebook 15 costs $1,099 in the US, which is $200 less than the ASUS and HP models, yet Google lists all three at $1,799 CAD in Canada.
Dell's XPS Googlebook moves the other way. It is the second cheapest model in the US at $999, but its £1,099 in the UK only matches Lenovo rather than undercutting it.
Acer, whose model is the only convertible in the range, adds two markets Google's compare pages do not cover. Acer says the Googlebook 14 starts at EUR 1,199 in EMEA in October 2026 and AUD 2,599 in Australia in November 2026.
The UK base ASUS model gets a faster processor
On Google's US compare table, the ASUS Googlebook 14 base configuration uses an Intel Core Ultra 5, with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage, at $1,299.
The UK compare table lists the same model at £1,199 with an Intel Core Ultra 7. Google's UK page also calls the screen a 14-inch 3K OLED, where the US page says 14-inch 2.8K OLED.
It is the only base processor difference between the two tables. The Acer, XPS, HP and Lenovo models carry the same chip in both regions, which matches the ASUS Googlebook 14 specification announcement ASUS made at launch.
ASUS's own US store adds a variant Google's compare page does not show. It pairs 16GB of memory with 256GB of storage, and says the memory is expandable to 64GB.
Canada lists chip, memory and storage choices the US page does not
Google's Canadian compare table shows more than one hardware option for four of the five models.

The US compare table shows a single base configuration per model, all of them 16GB and 512GB. It does not indicate whether the Ultra 7, the 32GB option or the 256GB option is sold in the US at all.
Two primary sources disagree on ASUS battery life
Google's US compare table lists the ASUS Googlebook 14 at up to 16 hours of battery life. ASUS's own product page for the same laptop claims up to 18 hours, from a 70Wh battery.
Both numbers come from a primary source. One is the platform owner and the other the manufacturer, and neither page explains the two-hour gap.
Google does attach a footnote to its figures. It reads: "Battery life is based on controlled web browsing tests. Actual battery life may be lower and will vary based on factors like network conditions, location, settings, and usage."
Pre-order and shipping dates by country
Google says pre-orders opened on September 21. Its announcement post says devices arrive on shelves starting October 4 in the US, and October 5 in Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Australia.
The post names the Google Store, Best Buy and other select retailers as pre-order channels. That follows pre-orders opening on September 21 and the launch line-up and its $899 starting price.
Storefront status differs by region too. At the time of writing, all five models showed a Pre-order button on Google's US compare page, and all five showed Preorder on the Canadian page.
The UK is less settled. Google's individual UK product pages for the XPS Googlebook and the Lenovo Googlebook 15 both read Coming Soon, while the UK compare table's button reads See Laptop for all five. The individual UK pages for the Acer, ASUS and HP models were not checked.
Pre-order stock could not be verified for this report. Retailer product pages could not be reached on September 26, 2026, so nothing is claimed here about any model being low on stock or unavailable in any market. Google has not published prices for the larger Canadian configurations, and storefront wording can change without notice.
