Ghost of Yotei Legends will not get more major content updates

Sucker Punch Productions is already moving on from Ghost of Yotei: Legends, with the studio confirming that last month’s raid update was the final major planned content update for the multiplayer mode.

Lead designer Darren Bridges said the raid was the last major update planned for Legends and that it finishes the story of the Yotei Six in that mode. The mode will remain playable, so players who still enjoy the current missions, raids, and multiplayer systems can continue playing. But unless the studio changes its plans later, there will be no new major content drops.

That gives Ghost of Yotei: Legends a much shorter update cycle than some fans may have expected. The mode launched on March 10, 2026, around six months after Ghost of Yotei itself released. Just two months later, Sucker Punch is already closing the book on planned major support.

The wording leaves a tiny bit of room for future surprises because the studio called the raid its last planned update. That means an unplanned patch or small fix could still happen if needed. But players should not expect new missions, story chapters, raids, or major additions.

The decision may disappoint fans who hoped Legends would grow over a longer period. Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends mode became a surprise hit, and that success raised expectations for Yotei’s version. A short support window makes the mode feel more like a focused companion experience than a long term live service.

The positive side is that Sucker Punch can now focus fully on its next project. The studio is known for working on one major game at a time, so ending planned Legends content likely means development resources are shifting elsewhere.

What comes next is still unknown. Sucker Punch could make a third Ghost game with another historical setting and new lead character. It could also return to one of its older franchises. Long time PlayStation fans still hope the studio may revisit InFamous, though nothing has been announced.

The studio is also entering a new period after co founder Brian Fleming retired at the end of last year. That makes its next project even more interesting, as it will show where Sucker Punch wants to go after Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei.

For now, Ghost of Yotei: Legends remains available, but its content roadmap appears complete. Players can keep enjoying what is there, but Sucker Punch’s attention now seems to be turning toward whatever comes next.
