Archetype Entertainment has shared another short look at Exodus, this time focusing on a harsh volcanic environment that looks almost completely drained of life. The new footage arrives ahead of the game’s larger June 6 deep dive, where the studio is expected to show more of how its different worlds, combat, and exploration systems connect.
The latest clip follows Jun Aslan as he begins descending into what the studio describes as a volcanic hellscape. It is a bleak area filled with ruined structures, thick green fog, and a heavy sense of silence. The short showcase does not reveal much combat or story detail, but it does continue the studio’s recent pattern of showing small glimpses of the game’s different locations before the bigger reveal.
The new footage adds another strange biome to Exodus’s growing list of worlds
The volcanic setting looks very different from the areas Archetype has shown recently. Earlier clips highlighted the Ghost City and The Guarding Maze, giving players a sense that Exodus will move across sharply different environments rather than staying in one familiar science fiction setting.
| Recent Exodus showcase | Main focus |
|---|---|
| Ghost City | Combat heavy sequence in a dangerous urban space |
| The Guarding Maze | A mysterious location with strange design and atmosphere |
| Volcanic Hellscape | A dead volcanic world with ruins, fog, and silence |
| June 6 deep dive | Expected to show a fuller look at the game |
The new location stands out because it feels hostile before anything even attacks. The broken ship in the distance suggests old disaster or abandoned exploration, while the green fog gives the area a toxic look. The silence also adds to the mood. Instead of filling the footage with constant action, Archetype seems to be leaning into atmosphere and environmental storytelling.
That is important for Exodus because the game has been building interest through mystery. The studio has not shown a full extended gameplay breakdown yet, so these smaller clips are doing the job of setting tone. They suggest a universe where each world has its own danger, history, and visual identity.
Exodus is being developed by Archetype Entertainment, a studio founded by former BioWare developers. That background has naturally made people curious about its approach to story, companions, choices, and world building. The game has been described as a sci fi RPG, and its premise involves time dilation, ancient threats, and humanity’s struggle for survival among powerful alien civilizations.

The volcanic clip does not answer the biggest gameplay questions. We still do not know enough about mission structure, exploration freedom, character progression, or how choices will shape the story. But it does show that Archetype is trying to build a wide range of locations, from ruined cities to strange mazes and now a scorched volcanic zone.
The June 6 deep dive should be the real test. Short clips can create curiosity, but players need to see how Exodus actually plays for a longer stretch. Combat, traversal, dialogue, UI, enemy design, and mission flow will matter more than mood alone.
For now, the volcanic hellscape is another strong visual tease. It makes Exodus feel larger and stranger, and it gives the upcoming deep dive more weight. If Archetype can connect these worlds with meaningful RPG systems and strong storytelling, Exodus could become one of the more interesting sci fi games to watch.
