Cardpocalypse Is Free to Keep on the Epic Games Store Until August 27

PC players can now claim Cardpocalypse for free on the Epic Games Store, with the latest weekly giveaway available until August 27, 2026.

Once you add the game to your library during the promotion, it remains tied to your account permanently. You do not need to finish playing it before the giveaway ends. The deadline only applies to claiming the game.

Cardpocalypse replaces last week's Caravan SandWitch promotion and gives players a card focused role playing game built around a 1990s school setting, deck building, quests, trading, and turn based battles.

Cardpocalypse mixes card battles with a school adventure

Cardpocalypse follows a 10 year old student attending Dudsdale Elementary. The story begins after a popular card game is banned at the school, but the situation quickly becomes more serious when creatures connected to the game begin appearing in the real world.

Players must build decks and use the rules of the fictional card game to fight the invading mutants. Progress is not limited to combat, as the game also includes exploration, conversations with other students, quests, card trading, and opportunities to improve your collection.

One of its more unusual systems lets you permanently modify cards as you progress. Rules can also change, meaning your approach to deck building can evolve throughout the campaign rather than remaining fixed.

The game uses a colorful visual style and leans heavily into its 1990s theme, including references to an era of floppy disks, gaming magazines, and physical card collecting.

Albion Online players also get a bonus bundle

The weekly promotion includes more than Cardpocalypse. Players of Albion Online can also claim an Epic Mage Bundle containing several in game items.

The package includes cosmetic content, tokens, healing potions, and other bonuses. The included items are said to carry a combined value of more than $55.

Because Albion Online itself is free to play, this bundle is aimed at existing players as well as anyone interested in starting the game and receiving some additional items without paying for the package.

Two more free games are coming next

Cardpocalypse will remain available until August 27. After that deadline, it will be replaced by the next set of PC giveaways.

The upcoming games have already been revealed as Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing. Both are expected to become available when the current Cardpocalypse promotion ends.

Breathedge is a survival game set in space, while Rival Stars Horse Racing focuses on horse racing, breeding, and management. Their arrival will give the next giveaway period another noticeably different mix of genres.

For now, you have seven days to claim Cardpocalypse. As long as it is added to your library before the August 27 cutoff, you can keep it and play it later without needing to purchase the game.
