Call of Duty: Warzone is being delisted from Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 4, 2026, as Activision continues moving the series away from last generation consoles. After that date, new downloads will no longer be available on those platforms, although players who already have Warzone in their library will still be able to install and play it for a limited time.
The change comes shortly after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was confirmed for Xbox Series X and S, PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, with no Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version planned. Taken together, the two announcements make it clear that Call of Duty is finally leaving older hardware behind after years of cross generation support.
Activision says Warzone on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will remain playable until the end of Season 06 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The in game store will be removed from those versions earlier, on June 25. That means players on older consoles can keep playing for now if they already own the game, but the path toward shutdown has begun.
Warzone’s Xbox One delisting shows the last generation is fading fast
The Xbox One and PS4 lasted far longer than many console generations. Major live service games kept supporting them because millions of players still used the hardware. But that support has become harder to justify as newer games demand more memory, faster storage, stronger CPUs, and better graphics hardware.
| Game | Delisting date | Platform affected |
|---|---|---|
| Horizon Chase Turbo | June 1 | Xbox |
| Rec Room | June 1 | Xbox One |
| Call of Duty: Warzone | June 4 | Xbox One and PS4 |
Warzone is the biggest name in this group because it is not just an older release. It is one of the most important free to play shooters of the past several years. Removing new downloads from Xbox One and PS4 signals that Activision no longer wants to maintain the older console version as the main Call of Duty ecosystem moves forward.

The Xbox Series X and S version of Warzone is not affected. Players on modern Xbox consoles will still be able to access the game normally. This is specifically about the Xbox One version, which also runs through backwards compatibility on newer systems but remains tied to the older release path.
For players who still use Xbox One or PS4, the advice is simple. If Warzone is already in your library, you should still be able to reinstall and play until the end of Black Ops 7 Season 06. But anyone who has not claimed or downloaded it before June 4 may lose access to new downloads on those older platforms.
The timing also fits the broader Call of Duty shift. Modern Warfare 4 is skipping Xbox One and PS4 completely, and that decision gives Infinity Ward more freedom to build for current hardware. Warzone leaving older storefronts is another part of the same transition.
There is still a small question around Horizon Chase Turbo. Its developer said the original version will leave the store on June 1, but a newer Ayrton Senna Edition appeared on Xbox recently. It is not yet clear whether that edition will remain available after the original version disappears.
Still, the larger message is hard to miss. Early June will remove several older Xbox One era listings, and Warzone is the most visible one. The old console generation is finally losing support from some of the biggest live service games, and Call of Duty’s move may push even more players toward current hardware.
