Beast of Reincarnation Patch Adds DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4.0 While Story Changes Remain Limited

Beast of Reincarnation has received its first major post launch update, bringing several technical improvements to the action RPG on PC and consoles while making only a small change to the story pacing issues criticized by players.

Patch 1.0.7 adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.0 on PC, adjusts the camera, increases text size, changes the default cutscene performance mode and introduces several combat balance updates.

The developers have also started addressing complaints about repetitive story conversations, although the first change is relatively minor compared with the broader improvements previously promised.

The patch arrives shortly after the game's launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Technical issues were among the biggest complaints during the initial release, with problems affecting camera behavior, presentation and PC image reconstruction.

DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4.0 improve the PC version

One of the most important changes for PC players is the addition of proper support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.0.

Upscaling implementation at launch was reportedly unreliable, limiting the usefulness of technologies intended to improve frame rates while maintaining image quality.

The new update should give compatible hardware a better way to balance visual quality and performance.

That could be particularly useful for players running the game at higher resolutions, where rendering costs are significantly greater.

Actual performance gains will depend on hardware and selected quality settings, but working DLSS and FSR support addresses one of the more important technical weaknesses of the launch version.

Cutscenes no longer default to 24 FPS

The default cinematic cutscene setting has also been changed.

Previously, the game selected Cinematic mode by default, which caused cutscenes to run at 24 FPS. Patch 1.0.7 switches the default to Performance mode.

Players who prefer the original cinematic presentation can still select it manually.

Existing players who already have Cinematic enabled will need to change the setting themselves if they want the higher frame rate option.

Camera behavior has also been adjusted during both combat and exploration, with further changes planned in future patches.

Text size has received similar attention. The current update increases readability throughout the game, and more adjustments are already planned.

Combat gets several balance changes

Patch 1.0.7 also modifies the game's combat system.

Emma's parry window has been adjusted when she is taking damage. Previously, players could find it unusually difficult or impossible to successfully parry immediately after being hit.

The change should make defensive timing more consistent.

Boss balance has also been revised across all difficulty levels, while enemy encounters on Normal difficulty received additional tuning.

These changes suggest the developers are using early player feedback to refine combat rather than leaving the launch balance untouched.

Story pacing change is relatively small

The story update is less substantial.

Affinity building conversations that could previously trigger several times in quick succession are now limited to once per in game day.

That should reduce repetition, but it does not address all complaints surrounding pacing and cutscene presentation.

Players have also criticized the limited ability to skip cutscenes, since only some sequences currently allow it.

The developers say additional updates are planned to improve the cutscene experience, although they have not confirmed exactly what those changes will include.

A broader skip option would address one common complaint, but that remains speculation until further details are announced.

More updates are still planned

Beast of Reincarnation launched with enough technical and presentation issues that its developers quickly committed to improving the game after release.

Patch 1.0.7 is a meaningful first step because it tackles several practical problems at once, especially on PC.

Working support for DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4.0, camera adjustments, better text readability and combat fixes should make the game easier to enjoy.

The story improvements are much more limited for now.

If future updates expand cutscene controls and make larger pacing changes, the game could address more of the criticism surrounding its launch state. For the moment, patch 1.0.7 is strongest as a technical and gameplay update rather than the major narrative revision some players were expecting.
