ASUS has quietly released its ProArt GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition, giving creators and compact workstation builders a thinner alternative to many oversized RTX 5090 cards.
The card was first shown at CES, but it has now appeared on ASUS’ official website. Its design is clearly inspired by NVIDIA’s RTX 5090 Founders Edition, especially the double vented backplate that helps air pass through the card more efficiently.
The ProArt RTX 5090 OC is not as thin as the Founders Edition. NVIDIA’s card uses a 2 slot design, while ASUS’ version is 2.5 slots thick. Still, that makes it slimmer than many custom RTX 5090 models, which often use much larger coolers.
ASUS also keeps the power connector placement and orientation close to NVIDIA’s Founders Edition layout. That should make cable routing easier in some compact cases, especially compared with bulkier custom cards.
The cooler uses two large Axial tech fans, a vapor chamber, and liquid metal on the GPU die to improve thermal performance. ASUS is also using a double vented backplate to increase airflow through the card.
| Feature | ASUS ProArt RTX 5090 OC |
|---|---|
| GPU | GeForce RTX 5090 |
| Memory | 32GB GDDR7 |
| Thickness | 2.5 slots |
| Cooler | Vapor chamber with two Axial tech fans |
| Thermal interface | Liquid metal |
| Backplate | Double vented design |
| Extra features | Dual BIOS switch and USB Type C port |
| Default clock | 2482MHz |
| OC mode clock | Up to 2512MHz |
The Dual BIOS switch lets users choose between Performance and Quiet modes. That is useful for creators who may prefer lower noise during editing or rendering work, while still having the option for higher performance when needed.

The USB Type C port is also a practical addition. It can be useful for portable displays, many of which rely on USB C for simple video and power connections.
ASUS has not announced pricing yet. But with many RTX 5090 cards selling above $4,000, this ProArt model is unlikely to be cheap.
The ProArt line is still newer than ASUS’ ROG and TUF gaming brands, but it has a clear identity. These cards are built for creators who want strong performance, a cleaner design, and less aggressive gaming styling.
The ProArt RTX 5090 OC fits that idea well. It gives users the power of NVIDIA’s flagship GPU in a relatively compact 2.5 slot card, with premium cooling and a design that looks more professional than most high end gaming GPUs.
For builders who liked the RTX 5090 Founders Edition layout but wanted an ASUS version with a slightly stronger cooler and creator focused features, this may be one of the more interesting RTX 5090 options.
