AMD Radeon RX 9050 leak points to 8GB Navi 44 card below RX 9060

AMD is reportedly preparing a new entry level Radeon RX 9000 desktop graphics card called the Radeon RX 9050. The card is expected to sit below the Radeon RX 9060 series, but early specifications suggest it may use the same full Navi 44 core configuration as the RX 9060 XT.

According to the leaked information, the Radeon RX 9050 has 2,048 Stream Processors. That matches the RX 9060 XT and is higher than the RX 9060, which uses 1,792 cores. The main difference is clock speed. The RX 9050 is listed with much lower clocks, which should place it clearly below the RX 9060 XT in performance.

The reported game clock is 1,920MHz, while the boost clock is 2,600MHz. For comparison, the RX 9060 XT reference card reaches up to a 2,530MHz game clock and a 3,130MHz boost clock. That means the RX 9050 could have a 24 percent lower game clock and a 17 percent lower boost clock than the RX 9060 XT.

Radeon RX 90502,048Up to 2.60GHz8GB GDDR6128 bit288GB/s

The RX 9050 is also expected to use 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128 bit bus. Its memory bandwidth is listed at 288GB/s, matching the RX 9060 instead of the RX 9060 XT. PCIe 5.0 x16 support is expected, though final details are not confirmed.

Power details remain unclear. The board power has not been listed yet, but the recommended power supply is reportedly 450W. That is lower than the RX 9060 XT’s 500W recommendation, which suggests AMD may be targeting a more efficient and cheaper card.

If these details are accurate, the Radeon RX 9050 could become AMD’s lower cost RDNA 4 option for 1080p gaming. The full Navi 44 core count gives it a decent base, while the lower clocks and reduced memory bandwidth would help separate it from the RX 9060 XT.

The card may also be useful for system builders that want a current generation AMD GPU at a lower price point. An 8GB memory limit will not appeal to everyone, especially as some newer games demand more VRAM, but it may still be enough for budget gaming PCs if the price is right.

For now, the RX 9050 should be treated as an early leak. The specifications are preliminary and reportedly come from a single source. AMD has not officially announced the card, so clocks, pricing, power limits, and launch timing could still change.
