Acer’s TravelMate P6 14 AI promises huge battery life in a laptop that barely weighs anything

Acer’s new TravelMate P6 14 AI is trying to solve one of the oldest problems with business laptops: getting long battery life without carrying extra weight. The laptop weighs as little as 2.11 pounds, yet Acer says one configuration can last up to 30 hours in a video playback test.

That figure comes with an important detail. The 30 hour claim applies to the 14 inch 1920 x 1200 non touch model, which weighs 2.65 pounds. The lighter touchscreen versions still sound impressive, but they are rated lower at up to 23.5 hours of video playback.

The TravelMate P6 14 AI uses a carbon fiber and magnesium aluminum alloy chassis to keep the weight down. It also runs on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 Panther Lake processors, starting with the Core Ultra 5 325 and going up to the Core Ultra X7 368H. The X7 version includes Intel’s stronger integrated GPU, though the thin design may limit how much sustained performance the laptop can deliver under heavier workloads.

Acer is offering three display options, but battery life will depend on which one you choose

Acer will sell the TravelMate P6 14 AI with three display choices: a 14 inch 3K OLED touchscreen, a 14 inch 3K IPS touchscreen, and a 14 inch 1920 x 1200 non touch panel. All three support variable refresh rate, which can help save power by lowering the refresh rate when the screen does not need to update quickly.

Display optionWeightClaimed video playback battery life
14 inch 3K OLED touchscreen2.11 poundsUp to 23.5 hours
14 inch 3K IPS touchscreen2.16 poundsUp to 23.5 hours
14 inch 1920 x 1200 non touch2.65 poundsUp to 30 hours

The OLED model also gets a matte coating and a brighter 500 nit panel, while the other two display options reach 400 nits. That should make the OLED version more useful in bright rooms or outdoor working conditions, even if it does not deliver the longest battery rating.

The laptop includes a 71Wh battery, which is already large for a machine this light. Acer also tested the device using MobileMark 30, where the non touch model lasted 15.5 hours and the touchscreen versions lasted 13 hours. Those numbers are more realistic for productivity work than a simple video rundown test, and they still look strong for a thin business notebook.

The port layout includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB A port, and a microSD card slot. The Thunderbolt ports are placed on the left side, which may annoy people who use a mouse with their left hand, but the overall selection is practical for a travel focused laptop.

Acer will offer up to 60GB of soldered LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage. That suggests the TravelMate P6 14 AI may not be cheap, although Acer has not announced pricing yet. The company says pricing will vary by region and will be shared closer to the laptop’s August launch.

The main appeal is clear. The TravelMate P6 14 AI is built for people who want a serious work laptop that feels almost unreal in hand, lasts through long travel days, and still has modern Intel hardware inside. The final price will decide how attractive it really is, but Acer has made one of the more interesting business laptops of the year.
