Acer has announced the Aspire Go 15 as the first laptop powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon C processor, but the device is still surrounded by questions. The laptop is meant to be part of a new wave of affordable Windows 11 PCs, with Snapdragon C chips targeting machines that could start as low as $300.
That price goal is important because the budget laptop market is becoming more competitive. Apple’s rumored MacBook Neo has pushed attention toward cheaper laptops that still feel modern, while Intel is preparing its own low cost Wildcat chips for similar devices. Qualcomm now wants Snapdragon C to give Windows laptop makers another option for thin, affordable, long lasting PCs.
The Aspire Go 15 is the first announced example, but Acer has not shared enough information to judge it properly yet. The company confirmed that the laptop will offer up to 8GB of memory, up to 512GB of storage, a 15.6 inch display, dual full function USB Type C ports, HDMI, and a Snapdragon C processor. That is useful, but several key details are still missing.
Acer has confirmed the basics, but price, launch date, display specs, and performance remain unclear
The biggest missing detail is price. Qualcomm says Snapdragon C laptops can start around $300, but Acer has not said whether the Aspire Go 15 will actually hit that number. If it launches much higher, it may have a harder time standing out against Intel powered budget laptops, discounted Snapdragon X machines, Chromebooks, and Apple’s lower cost MacBook plans.
The launch date is also unknown. Qualcomm says Snapdragon C devices will arrive later in 2026, but Acer has not given a specific release window for the Aspire Go 15.
| Detail | Acer Aspire Go 15 status |
|---|---|
| Processor | Snapdragon C |
| Memory | Up to 8GB |
| Storage | Up to 512GB |
| Display | 15.6 inch, resolution not confirmed |
| Ports | Dual USB Type C and HDMI confirmed |
| Price | Not announced |
| Launch date | Not announced |
| Battery life | Qualcomm promises all day battery life, but no figures yet |
The Snapdragon C chip itself is also still a mystery. Qualcomm has said it is aimed at affordable PCs and does not use Oryon cores, but it has not shared full technical details, benchmark numbers, core counts, graphics information, or clear performance expectations. That makes it hard to know whether Snapdragon C will feel like a true modern Windows laptop chip or a very basic processor for light use.

Battery life could be its biggest strength. Qualcomm says Snapdragon C laptops should offer all day battery life, which would make sense for students, families, and people who mainly browse the web, write documents, stream video, and use basic apps. But without real figures or independent testing, that claim remains only a promise.
The Aspire Go 15 could still become an important laptop if Acer gets the price right. A lightweight Windows 11 machine with long battery life, decent storage, and a low starting price could appeal to buyers who do not need high performance. It could also give Windows laptops a stronger answer to cheap MacBooks and Chromebooks.
For now, though, the announcement feels incomplete. Acer has the first Snapdragon C laptop on paper, but the real story depends on what comes next. Price, release timing, screen quality, port details, and performance numbers will decide whether the Aspire Go 15 is a serious budget laptop or just the first name attached to Qualcomm’s new entry level chip.
