Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Reveals Persona 4 Revival, Wo Long 2, Modern Warfare 4 and More

Microsoft used its Tokyo Game Show 2026 presentation to showcase a broad mix of upcoming Xbox games, including major releases such as Persona 4 Revival, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, and several newly announced projects.

The presentation covered games scheduled for late 2026, titles arriving throughout 2027, and projects that still do not have release windows. Xbox Play Anywhere and Game Pass support featured heavily across the lineup, while several releases are also coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

One of the biggest new announcements was Gachiakuta: Breakout, an action RPG with survival elements based on the Gachiakuta anime. The game is planned for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2027.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour also returned with fresh gameplay showing a Japan based location. Sega's revival is scheduled for 2027 across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

Major release dates confirmed

Several previously announced games received firm launch dates during the showcase.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 received a new campaign trailer centered on a conflict on the Korean Peninsula. The game is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Persona 4 Revival will arrive on February 18, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Game Pass. Its Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow on May 20. The latest trailer focused on Naoto, the young detective who becomes an important part of the original game's investigation.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is set for March 4, 2027. The new gameplay presentation introduced a large boss called Zuochi and explained Insight Skills, which strengthen certain actions when you perform a perfectly timed dodge or deflection.

Shape of Dreams, originally released on PC in 2025, is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Game Pass. The action roguelike supports up to four players in cooperative play.

Hope in the City was another notable addition. The narrative adventure follows a teenager searching for her missing parents after discovering that their apartment has been ransacked.

New games broaden the Xbox lineup

Bloomwalker is a crafting adventure about restoring nature to a polluted world. It is planned for Xbox, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, Game Pass, and cloud gaming, although no exact release date was given.

Faraday Blues combines visual novel storytelling with strategy card mechanics. Player decisions determine character outcomes, with 64 endings spread across three storylines. It is expected in 2027.

Raji: Kaliyuga also received a developer commentary presentation. The action adventure follows siblings Raji and Darsh as they attempt to stop Mahabalasura from opening the heavens and triggering a wider conflict.

Genigods Nezha received a development showcase as well. The action RPG draws on Chinese mythology and follows the Spirit Pearl while battling gods and enormous creatures affected by reality altering rifts.

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement appeared with another gameplay trailer. The follow up to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is scheduled for 2027 and follows a battle against the Demon Lord Elias in 16th century England.

Existing games were represented too. Fallout 76 received a Halloween themed update called The Slasher, while Once Human announced its Isles of Abyss expansion, which introduces ocean exploration, ships, mysteries, and hostile sea creatures.

The presentation closed with Hideo Kojima. He said development of the horror project OD is progressing smoothly and confirmed Bill Skarsgård as the lead actor in Physint. Both projects remain without confirmed release dates.

The Tokyo Game Show presentation gave Xbox a substantial slate extending well into 2027, with a mix of Japanese games, major Western releases, smaller original projects, and continued support for Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.
