Microsoft’s limited edition Xbox Series X25 could launch at a significantly higher price than the standard Xbox Series X, according to a new report.
The translucent green console was revealed earlier this year as part of Xbox’s 25th anniversary celebrations, but Microsoft has not yet announced an official price. A new leak now claims the console will cost €899.99 in Europe and launch on November 27, 2026.
If regional pricing follows Microsoft’s current pattern, that could translate to a US price of $899.99.
Xbox Series X25 may carry a $100 premium
The standard 1TB Xbox Series X with a disc drive currently costs €799.99 in France and $799.99 in the United States.
That makes the reported €899.99 Series X25 price exactly €100 higher in Europe. Based on Microsoft’s current pricing structure, the limited edition model could therefore arrive at $899.99 in the US.

The Series X25 is not expected to offer major performance improvements over the existing Xbox Series X.
Its main differences are cosmetic, including a translucent green shell inspired by the original Xbox and a green tinted power button.
That means the higher price would largely be tied to the limited edition design and anniversary branding.
November 27 launch would place it on Black Friday
The leaked release date of November 27 is notable because it falls on Black Friday in 2026.
That would place the console directly into the busiest part of the holiday shopping season, although a premium limited edition product may not necessarily receive a launch discount.
Microsoft has only confirmed that the Series X25 is planned for November. The November 27 date remains unconfirmed.
There have also been reports that preorders for the matching translucent Xbox wireless controller could begin around Gamescom 2026, but it is not yet clear whether console preorders will follow the same schedule.
Xbox hardware has already become more expensive
The potential $899.99 price comes after Microsoft recently raised the price of the standard Xbox Series X.
The disc based console increased from $649.99 to $799.99, a $150 jump.
If the Series X25 launches at $899.99, buyers would be paying another $100 above that already increased price for a console that is expected to offer the same underlying performance.
That could make the limited edition difficult to justify for anyone who is mainly interested in hardware capability rather than its design.
The anniversary controller may be the more accessible option
Microsoft is also preparing a matching translucent green controller as part of the Xbox 25th anniversary lineup.
For players who want the anniversary styling without buying another console, the controller could provide a less expensive way to get the same visual theme.
Pricing for the controller has not been confirmed in the supplied report.
The Xbox Series X25 itself also still lacks official pricing and a firm release date from Microsoft, so the leaked €899.99 figure and November 27 launch should be treated as unconfirmed for now.
