Xbox players have three more games to try through Free Play Days this weekend, with Train Sim World 6, Icarus: Console Edition, and Lynked: Banner of the Spark included in the latest lineup.
Unlike some previous Free Play Days promotions, none of these games are available to everyone. You will need an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential subscription to access the free weekend.
The promotion is already live and runs until Sunday, August 23, at 11:59 PM PT, giving you several days to explore all three games before regular access ends.
Xbox Free Play Days games for August 20 to 23
| Game | Platforms | Game type |
|---|---|---|
| Train Sim World 6 | Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows | Train simulation |
| Icarus: Console Edition | Xbox Series X|S | PvE survival |
| Lynked: Banner of the Spark | Xbox Series X|S | Cooperative action roguelite |
Train Sim World 6 offers the broadest platform support in this week's selection. It is available across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PCs. The railway simulator lets you operate a selection of modern and classic locomotives across routes based on real locations.
For players interested in survival games, Icarus: Console Edition offers a very different experience. The game is built around PvE survival on a dangerous alien world, where exploration and resource management are important parts of staying alive. The Free Play Days version is available on Xbox Series X|S.
Lynked: Banner of the Spark completes the lineup. It combines cooperative action and roguelite gameplay with town building and life simulation systems. The mixture gives you activities outside combat while still maintaining a strong focus on action and progression.
All three games are also discounted
The three Free Play Days titles are currently being offered with discounts during the promotion. This means you can try a game during the free access period and then purchase it at a reduced price if you decide to continue playing.

Progress made during Free Play Days promotions will generally make the trial more useful for players considering a purchase, since you have enough time to get a practical idea of how each game plays before spending money.
The lineup also covers three noticeably different genres. Train Sim World 6 is aimed at simulation fans, Icarus focuses on survival and exploration, while Lynked provides cooperative action with additional building systems. That variety should make the weekend useful even if only one of the three genres normally interests you.
How to find the Free Play Days games on Xbox
You can locate the promotion directly from your Xbox console. Open the Microsoft Store, go to the Home section from the sidebar, and then select the Subscriptions area. The current Free Play Days games should appear there for eligible Game Pass members.
There is no permanent ownership included with the promotion. Once the Free Play Days period finishes, you will need to purchase the games or access them through another eligible subscription if you want to continue playing.
This week's event ends on August 23 at 11:59 PM PT, so eligible Xbox Game Pass members have until then to try Train Sim World 6, Icarus: Console Edition, and Lynked: Banner of the Spark without buying them first.
