Xbox fans have little time left to enter a sweepstakes offering tickets to the company’s FanFest event at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany.
Entries close on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The winner will receive admission for themselves and one guest, but travel and accommodation are not included.
The competition is open to eligible adults in Austria, France, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. No purchase is required to enter.
Xbox is holding the event as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations and its wider FanFest tour, which brings community gatherings to several regions throughout the year.
The prize includes two event tickets but no travel
The sweepstakes gives the selected entrant access to Xbox FanFest Cologne along with one companion.
However, the winner will need to arrange and pay for transportation, accommodation, meals, and other expenses connected to the trip.
This condition is important for entrants living outside Germany because attending Gamescom can involve substantial additional costs.

FanFest brings the Xbox community together at Gamescom
Xbox FanFest is the company’s official community programme for events, competitions, rewards, and other activities.
The Gamescom gathering will allow fans to meet other players and take part in Xbox’s wider presence at the show. Microsoft is planning a substantial booth with upcoming games, demonstrations, and playable stations.
This year carries additional significance because Xbox is celebrating 25 years since the launch of its original console.
The FanFest tour began with an event in Los Angeles around Summer Game Fest. Other planned destinations include Australia, Canada, England, Japan, Mexico, Germany, and another event in the United States.
Details for every regional stop have not yet been announced.
Gamescom will feature two Xbox broadcasts
Anyone who cannot attend in person will still be able to follow Xbox’s Gamescom coverage online.

Microsoft will host two official broadcasts from its booth on August 26 and August 27. Both streams are scheduled to begin at 7am Pacific, 10am Eastern, 3pm British Summer Time, and 4pm Central European Summer Time.
The broadcasts are expected to include interviews, guests, gameplay, trailers, and updates from the show.
Xbox has already confirmed a large Gamescom lineup featuring games such as Fable, Gears of War: E Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and Minecraft Dungeons II.
Fable will receive a live demonstration focused on its combat, while attendees will be able to play part of the Gears of War: E Day campaign.
Entrants should consider the costs before applying
Winning access to FanFest does not create a complete travel package.
Someone entering from the United States or another distant region would need to cover international flights, local transport, accommodation, and daily expenses in Cologne.
Even entrants based in nearby European countries should check hotel availability because Gamescom attracts a large number of visitors and accommodation prices can rise around the event.
The prize will therefore be most practical for people who already plan to visit Gamescom or can arrange the trip at short notice.
The sweepstakes closes on August 2, leaving only a limited window for eligible fans to enter. Those who miss out can still watch the two Gamescom broadcasts later in August and follow the announcements remotely.
