Where Winds Meet will continue expanding after its recent Xbox launch, with the Hidden Mountain expansion set to arrive in July. The update will introduce a new mountainous region built around vertical exploration, while Everstone Studio also plans continued work on matchmaking, server stability, console performance, storage optimization, and customization features.
The free to play wuxia action RPG is already available on PC, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS, with Xbox Series X and S joining the platform list earlier this month. Xbox players also receive Game Pass related benefits, while a separate Version 1.8 update is scheduled for June 25 with a Homestead system and interactive pets.
The studio says its long term goal is to keep building Where Winds Meet into a larger open world wuxia experience with more regions, faction stories, social features, and multiplayer activities.
Hidden Mountain Will Add Vertical Exploration to the Open World
Hidden Mountain is expected to be very different from previous regions. The expansion will focus on cliffs, forests, stone paths, and large vertical spaces rather than relying on flatter terrain.
Everstone Studio says the region has been designed around three main environmental ideas: wind, light, and stone. The intention is to make the area feel older, more atmospheric, and more connected to the theme of people seeking knowledge and truth.
The expansion will also introduce the Mohist Sect, new story content, fresh gameplay systems, and stronger enemies. More details are expected closer to launch.
| Upcoming Content | Expected Addition |
|---|---|
| Version 1.8 | Homestead system and interactive pets |
| Hidden Mountain | New mountain region arriving in July |
| Vertical exploration | More layered paths, cliffs, and summit areas |
| Mohist Sect | New faction content |
| New enemies | Stronger threats tied to the expansion |
| Future updates | More regions, stories, and multiplayer content |
Xbox and PS5 Pro Optimization Will Continue
Everstone Studio says optimization remains a major priority across every platform. The Xbox version was developed alongside wider console planning, with particular attention paid to performance, controls, memory use, asset streaming, and stability.

Xbox Series S required additional work because of its lower hardware limits. The developers say they focused on balancing image quality, memory usage, and performance while maintaining the main open world experience.
PS5 Pro will also receive more work over time. Planned improvements include faster resource loading, lower memory use peaks, greater stability, and shorter loading times.
For Xbox systems, the team is working on shader optimization, lower input and display latency, more stable frame rates, improved asset streaming, and DirectStorage improvements.
Matchmaking and Server Stability Remain Long Term Priorities
The developers acknowledge that network performance remains important for PvP and co op play. Dedicated servers are already available in Oceania, the Middle East, and South America to help reduce latency in those regions.
Cross server Arena matchmaking has also been introduced. Players can decide whether to enable it, allowing the game to widen the matchmaking pool when wait times become too long on their home server.
The team says it will keep evaluating new server regions based on player distribution, feedback, and operating conditions. It is also continuing work to reduce how much ping affects competitive matches.
Customization, Storage, and New Platforms Are Still Being Considered
The studio is aware that players want more dye options for accessories and free items. It has not confirmed that every item will become dyeable, but says it is exploring ways to give players more appearance customization.
Storage size is another concern as the game receives more regions and content. Everstone says installation requirements may increase, but it is working on better resource management and download systems to limit the impact.
A Mac version and Nintendo Switch 2 release have not been announced, though the studio says it is evaluating additional platforms.
