VANRAN Delayed to Early 2027, New Trailer Reveals Giant Boss Battles and Dark Fantasy Combat

Korean indie developer BECUZUS has confirmed that its upcoming dark fantasy action RPG, VANRAN, will launch in early 2027 instead of December 2026.

The revised release window was announced alongside a new trailer during the ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase. The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, although an exact release date remains unconfirmed.

VANRAN combines challenging combat, exploration, and story driven gameplay. One of its distinctive features allows players to climb enormous enemies during battles, similar to encounters in Shadow of the Colossus.

VANRAN Features Giant Boss Battles and Chain Based Combat

VANRAN introduces a Chain system that connects movement and combat, allowing players to maintain momentum while attacking and navigating environments.

The combat system emphasizes parrying, breaking enemy defenses, and switching between actions without interrupting movement.

Players will also encounter gigantic creatures known as Govu. These battles require climbing the creatures and attacking different areas across multiple stages.

BECUZUS is developing enemies capable of coordinating attacks and using group tactics, potentially making encounters more challenging.

The studio also plans to offer adjustable difficulty settings and accessibility features for newcomers.

VANRAN Story Follows a Warrior Trapped in the Demon Realm

Players control Caleb, a former warrior who defended the Northern Frontier for 100 years before rebelling against the royal family.

After his former companions turn against him, Caleb escapes into an abyss and becomes enslaved within the Demon Realm.

Armed with a sealed sword, he begins another rebellion while pursuing revenge and freedom.

The narrative draws inspiration from classical literature, including Dante's Divine Comedy and the story of Orpheus and Eurydice.

BECUZUS says player decisions will influence the story and its ending. Exploration will also reveal hidden narratives and alternative paths.

VANRAN PC System Requirements Confirmed

The announced requirements suggest that VANRAN should run on relatively modest gaming hardware.

BECUZUS has not explained the reason for the delay.

The additional development time may allow the studio to refine its combat mechanics, large boss encounters, and branching narrative.

VANRAN is now scheduled for early 2027 across PC and current generation consoles.
