Tencent Games has introduced Central Tech at Gamescom 2026 as a unified technology brand covering animation, gameplay systems, online services, testing and AI driven development tools.
The portfolio includes Motus, GIGA, MagicDawn, Anti Cheat Expert, GVoice and WeTest. Together, these technologies are designed to support different parts of game development, from creating 3D character movement to testing completed builds and protecting live games from cheating.
| Technology | Main purpose |
|---|---|
| Motus | AI based 3D character animation |
| GIGA | Training general purpose AI agents in game environments |
| MagicDawn | Rendering, cloud and AI technology |
| Anti Cheat Expert | Cheat prevention and threat protection |
| GVoice | Voice communication and real time translation |
| WeTest Acorn AI Studio | Automated game testing through AI agents |
Motus combines several animation tasks into one system
Motus is one of the main technologies shown during the event.
Tencent describes it as an end to end AI pipeline for 3D character animation. Instead of relying on separate tools for rigging, skinning, motion creation and refinement, Motus brings these stages together in a single system.
Animations can be generated from text prompts, video or keyframes. The system also supports interactions involving multiple characters, including combat, cooperative actions and social scenes.
Motus can analyze a character's topology, create a usable skeleton within seconds and generate skinning weights for muscles, clothing and other parts of the model.
Tencent says the technology can also automatically identify animation problems such as jitter, mesh penetration, unusual joint movement and foot sliding.
Audio and text can be used to control facial animation, body movement and interactive responses in real time, potentially supporting NPCs, virtual presenters and other digital characters.
Tencent says parts of the Motus technology have already been used in games including PUBG Mobile, Delta Force, Honor of Kings, League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.
GIGA and MagicDawn target gameplay and rendering
Central Tech extends beyond content creation.
GIGA uses games and virtual environments as training spaces for general purpose AI agents. Its research focuses on areas such as visual decision making, connecting language with actions and responding to competitive situations in real time.

MagicDawn combines rendering technology with AI and cloud computing. Tencent says the system is intended to improve areas including performance, image quality and audio.
One example involved Roco Kingdom, where technologies such as global illumination and cross platform adaptation helped support the move from a browser game to a 64 square kilometer open world experience.
AI agents can also help test games
Tencent is also applying AI to testing and live operations.
WeTest Acorn AI Studio uses autonomous agents that can play games and identify problems across different genres and platforms.
Anti Cheat Expert focuses on cheat prevention, client protection, in game economic risks and threat intelligence.
GVoice provides low latency voice communication alongside AI noise reduction, a proprietary codec and real time translation.
Tencent's broader aim is to turn these technologies into reusable tools that can become part of normal development pipelines instead of remaining isolated research demonstrations.
The company is also researching world models and real time interactive video, although it has not yet explained how those projects will be used in future games.
