SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless OMNI Review: A Smarter Headset For Players With Too Many Devices

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless OMNI is a refined version of the company’s premium wireless gaming headset, built for players who use several devices and want one headset to manage them all. It does not completely reinvent the Nova Pro Wireless formula, but it improves the everyday experience with stronger connectivity, a more useful GameHub, hot swappable batteries, and smoother multi platform support.

At around $399, the OMNI is expensive, but its value depends on your setup. If you play on PC, console, mobile, and handheld devices, the headset makes switching between them much easier. If you only use one platform, the upgrade is harder to justify, especially if you already own the Nova Pro Wireless.

SteelSeries is clearly not chasing a flashy redesign here. The OMNI is more about removing friction from daily use. That makes it less exciting on paper, but more useful once it becomes part of a busy gaming desk.

Design and comfort stay familiar

The Arctis Nova Pro Wireless OMNI looks very similar to the Nova Pro Wireless. SteelSeries keeps the same clean, understated design with no RGB and no aggressive gaming styling. It is available in Black, White, and Midnight Blue, with the darker and blue finishes giving it a more lifestyle friendly look.

The headset is built mostly for practicality. There is more plastic than some buyers may expect at this price, but that keeps the weight manageable at around 340 grams. For long gaming sessions, that matters more than a heavier premium metal build.

The retractable microphone remains one of the best design choices. It disappears into the earcup when not in use, making the headset feel less awkward outside voice chat. Comfort is strong overall, and the headset is easy to wear for long periods.

The GameHub is the main reason to care

The biggest upgrade is the GameHub. It now supports three USB inputs, Bluetooth, wired connections, device switching, and battery charging in one place. That sounds like a small change, but it makes the headset far more convenient if you own several systems.

You can keep a PC, console, and another device connected without constantly moving cables or changing settings. The headset adapts more naturally to what you are using, which is where the OMNI starts to feel different from the standard Nova Pro Wireless.

The Infinite Power System also remains excellent. SteelSeries includes two batteries, with one inside the headset and one charging in the base station. When the battery runs low, you swap it in seconds. This setup is still one of the best solutions in wireless gaming headsets because it removes the usual charging anxiety.

Audio is strong for gaming, but not class leading for music

The OMNI keeps a sound profile that feels familiar from the Nova lineup. It has a slightly V shaped tuning, with clear highs, controlled bass, and a focus on positional accuracy.

In games, this works well. Footsteps, environmental details, dialogue, and directional cues are easy to read. The bass gives explosions and action scenes enough weight, but it does not overpower the mix. That makes the headset comfortable for longer sessions and better suited to competitive play than bass heavy headsets.

For music, the OMNI is good but not exceptional. The sound is clear enough for casual listening, but it does not deliver the warmth, detail, or richness that dedicated music focused headphones can offer at this price. This is still a gaming headset first.

The EQ options help. You can adjust sound through the GameHub or SteelSeries software, which makes the headset more flexible for different games and media.

ANC and microphone improvements are useful, not dramatic

Active Noise Cancellation is included, but it is not the headline feature. It reduces background noise enough to improve focus, especially in a busy room, but it will not replace dedicated ANC headphones.

The ClearCast Pro microphone is more interesting because it uses onboard processing and AI noise reduction. That helps keep voice quality more consistent across platforms without needing complicated software settings. It is a practical improvement for players who move between PC, console, and mobile chat.

Should Nova Pro Wireless owners upgrade?

This is the hardest question. The OMNI is better than the Nova Pro Wireless, but it is not a huge leap in sound, comfort, or design. The real improvement is workflow.

Upgrade if you regularly use several systems, want everything connected at once, and value the improved GameHub. Skip it if you mainly play on one device or already feel satisfied with your current Nova Pro Wireless setup.

For new buyers, the OMNI is the most complete SteelSeries headset in this style. For existing owners, it depends on how much frustration your current setup causes.

The OMNI is expensive but very convenient

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless OMNI succeeds because it understands modern gaming setups. Many players no longer use one device. They move between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, mobile, and handhelds. The OMNI is built around that reality.

Its sound is strong for gaming, comfort is reliable, the microphone is practical, and the hot swappable battery system remains excellent. The biggest drawback is the price, followed by the fact that music performance and ANC are good rather than outstanding.

Still, as a do everything wireless gaming headset, the OMNI is one of SteelSeries’ most complete products yet. It is not a must buy upgrade for every Nova Pro Wireless owner, but for players who want one headset across multiple platforms, it makes daily use noticeably smoother.
