Sony's WH-1000XM6 noise cancelling headphones are down to $378.00 at Amazon, cutting $81.99 from the $459.99 list price. The more useful number is $1.99, because that is all the deal saves against Sony's own store.

Sony is selling the same black pair for $379.99 direct, marked as $80.00 off the same $459.99 list. The Amazon offer ships and sells from Amazon.com rather than a marketplace reseller, and the listing shows it in stock.
The discount is not locked behind Prime. The listing carries no members-only price row, so $378.00 is open to any shopper at the time of writing.
What the $378 price actually beats
The $459.99 anchor is genuine. It is Sony's own recommended price, and Sony still shows it struck through on its product page.
Walmart does not stock the WH-1000XM6 itself. Every listing there belongs to a marketplace seller, and the cheapest new black pair is $378.00 from Focus Camera, matching Amazon to the cent.
That makes $378.00 the going floor among authorized sellers rather than a dramatic undercut. Amazon's advantage is simply that it holds the buy box directly, the same pattern seen when the 48-inch BRAVIA 6 OLED landed $1.99 under Sony's own price.
A cheaper $319.97 figure also appears on the Amazon page. That is a used unit from a marketplace seller, not this deal.

Sony WH-1000XM6 specifications
| Specification | Sony WH-1000XM6 |
|---|---|
| Driver | 30mm dome, lightweight carbon fiber, neodymium magnet |
| Processor | HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3, 12 microphones |
| Battery | Up to 30 hours with ANC on, 40 hours with ANC off |
| Quick charge | 3 minutes for up to 3 hours, USB-PD adapter not included |

| Bluetooth | 5.3, multipoint supported |
| Weight | Approx. 254 g |
| Frequency response | 4 Hz to 40,000 Hz (JEITA) |
The processor is the headline change. Sony says the QN3 is seven times faster than the QN1 used in the WH-1000XM5, and that it manages 12 microphones in real time.
Battery life is rated at 30 hours with noise cancelling on and 40 hours with it off. Sony's own footnote says those figures assume the AAC codec with DSEE Extreme and EQ switched off, so LDAC listeners should expect less.
How it compares with the XM5 and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra
| Model | Price at time of writing | Buy box | Battery, ANC on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sony WH-1000XM6 | $378.00 | Amazon.com | 30 hours |
| Sony WH-1000XM5 | $199.99 at Sony | Sony | 30 hours |
| Bose QuietComfort Ultra | $329.00 | Amazon.com | Up to 24 hours |
The predecessor is the real competition. Sony sells the WH-1000XM5 in black for $199.99 direct, down from $399.99, which lands $178.01 below the XM6 deal.
Amazon lists the XM5 at $198.00, but that buy box belongs to marketplace seller Focus Camera LLC rather than Amazon itself. The XM5 keeps the same 30mm driver and the same 30-hour rating, while giving up Bluetooth 5.3, LC3 support and the QN3 processor.
Bose sits in between. The QuietComfort Ultra is $329.00 sold by Amazon, 27 percent off a $449.00 list, though a marketplace seller called Savings Story currently holds the active buy box at $327.99. Bose rates it for up to 24 hours of playtime, and the company has been busy elsewhere in audio with its Sport Open Earbuds and second generation Ultra Open Earbuds.
What the listing does not say
Neither Amazon nor Sony publishes a full charging time for the WH-1000XM6. Sony does list one for the XM5, at approximately 3.5 hours, but leaves the field off the newer model entirely.
The quick-charge claim carries conditions too. Three minutes buys up to three hours of playback, but only with the headphones switched off and with a USB-PD adapter that Sony says is not included.
The Amazon bullets also skip multipoint pairing, LC3 support, the 254 gram weight and the 30mm driver, all of which Sony lists on its own page. Shoppers weighing this against a gaming option can compare it with the Astro A50 wireless headset at $239.
No end date is published for the discount, and neither company has said how long $378.00 will hold. Prices quoted here are as of October 5, 2026, and can change without notice.
