The Logitech G Astro A50 Multi-Platform Wireless Gaming Headset is $239.00 on Amazon at the time of writing, down from its $299.99 list price. That 20% cut is effectively a price match, since Logitech's own store sells the same headset for $239.99.
Amazon's listing matches, phrase for phrase, Logitech's spec text for its current ASTRO A50 (Gen 5), a headset that docks on a base station and switches audio between three systems. That matters for anyone who plays on several platforms, because one headset and one dock cover Xbox, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch or Switch 2.
How PLAYSYNC switching works on the Astro A50
Logitech calls the feature PLAYSYNC Audio. According to Logitech's product page, up to three systems plug into USB-C ports on the back of the base station at the same time.
Switching between them happens from an on-ear control, per the Amazon listing. Logitech also lists PS4, Xbox One and macOS 13 or later.
The connections carry audio only. There is no HDMI or video passthrough on this model, so each console still sends its picture straight to the TV or monitor.
A front LED panel on the base station shows which platform is active. The same dock charges the headset magnetically when it clicks into place.
Logitech says the 7-core DSP saves custom audio settings as the headset moves between consoles and PC. Tuning happens in G HUB on PC or the Logitech G mobile app, with a 10-band parametric EQ, noise gate and stream-output mixing.

This is not the Astro A50 X
The naming is easy to confuse. Logitech also sells the pricier Astro A50 X, whose base station adds HDMI 2.1 video passthrough at up to 4K and 120Hz for Xbox and PS5.
However, the A50 X does not support Nintendo Switch. The model on sale here gives up video passthrough and gains Switch and Switch 2 support over USB-C instead.
It is also not the older 2019 Astro A50, which relied on an optical connection and had no Switch support. Amazon's title simply says Astro A50 Multi-Platform Wireless Gaming Headset, and the Gen 5 identification comes from its spec wording matching Logitech's page.

Bluetooth is there for mixing a phone's Discord chat or music into game audio, not as a main listening mode.
How the A50 deal compares with cheaper wireless headsets
None of the alternatives below offers the A50's three-system dock. The trade-off is price, since each one costs at least $89 less on Amazon at the time of writing.

The Edifier G5 MAX costs $149.99 and claims up to 305 hours in Bluetooth mode, plus THX spatial audio. Its listing does not mention Xbox.
The HyperX Cloud III S is $129.99, down from $179.99, and HyperX rates it for up to 120 hours on 2.4GHz. Xbox is not on its compatibility list.
The Logitech G522 Lightspeed is also $129.99, down from $159.99. Logitech rates it for up to 60 hours with lighting off.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 is $89.00, down from $109.99, but its listing limits it to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and mobile devices. The Razer BlackShark V3 Wireless is $74.50 with a 70-hour battery rating, though Razer states it does not work with Xbox consoles.

Who the Astro A50 deal makes sense for
The A50 earns its price when several systems share one desk. A player with an Xbox, a PS5 and a PC can leave all three connected and switch audio from the earcup.
For a single-platform setup, the cheaper headsets above cover wireless play for far less. At 12.8oz (363g), the A50 is also heavier than the 280g G522 and the 305g Edifier.
Neither Amazon nor Logitech publishes an end date for the current pricing, and Logitech does not list the Bluetooth version or range. Prices were checked on September 19, 2026, and they can change at any time.
